To get better at Fishing Trawler in Old School RuneScape, join a group, help keep the boat afloat and protect its net during the five-minute trip. Level 15 Fishing is needed to receive fish rewards; successful trips can also award Angler’s outfit pieces, which together provide a 2.5% Fishing XP bonus.
What to expect on a Fishing Trawler trip
Fishing Trawler is a cooperative Fishing minigame at Port Khazard. Board Murphy’s trawler and work with the other players to keep it from sinking during a five-minute voyage. The hazards include holes, flooding, sea monsters and damage to the net. Keeping the vessel afloat and its net intact matters: a damaged net affects the fish reward, while an intact one may yield fish according to your Fishing level.

You need level 15 Fishing to receive fish at the end of the trip. That requirement is specifically for fish rewards; the available information does not establish it as a requirement for every aspect of participating.
How to approach the trip
Join a group
Group participation is recommended because handling the minigame alone can be overwhelming. Coordinate with the other players rather than assuming one person can manage every hazard. The current designated world can change, so check in-game rather than relying on an old world number.

Help keep the boat and net in working order
During the five-minute voyage, respond to the boat’s hazards and help protect the net. A successful trip depends on the vessel surviving, and the condition of the net affects whether fish rewards are possible. The available information does not establish a specific task rotation or scoring strategy, so focus on contributing to the shared objective.
Why players pursue the Angler’s outfit
The main longer-term reward highlighted for Fishing-focused players is the Angler’s outfit. The full set increases Fishing XP by 2.5%. A reported chance of receiving an outfit piece is 1/12 after a successful trip; that figure is a per-trip chance, not a guarantee of a piece on any particular run.
This makes Fishing Trawler relevant if you want the outfit’s XP bonus. The available information does not establish that the minigame is a faster Fishing training method or provide a basis for comparing XP per hour with other activities.
