For the PC release, Dementium II HD, start with the main-menu Options screen: its documented settings let you adjust video options and customize controls. The PC Quick Start Guide lists a maximum selectable resolution of 1920×1080 and supports keyboard/mouse as well as controller input. Neither that guide nor the Steam listing supplies frame-rate benchmarks or confirms a universal performance tweak, so treat additional changes as experiments rather than guaranteed fixes.
Start with the in-game options
- Open the game’s main menu and choose Options.
- Review the available video settings and adjust them one at a time. The Quick Start Guide confirms video settings are available, but does not document specific graphics sliders or establish which setting improves performance.
- Check the selected resolution. The guide lists a maximum of 1920×1080; it does not report performance at that resolution or validate lowering resolution as a fix.

Change one setting at a time and compare how the game behaves in the same situation. The sources do not provide a target frame rate or controlled before-and-after results, so an improvement on one PC should not be assumed on another.

These specifications appear on the Steam store page. If your hardware falls below the listed minimums, the available evidence cannot predict whether the game will run acceptably. Meeting or exceeding the recommended specifications also does not establish a particular frame rate.

Choose and customize a control scheme
The game supports both controller and keyboard/mouse input. The following are the PC Quick Start Guide’s defaults; use Options to customize controls.

Keyboard and mouse
This scheme uses WASD to move and the mouse to look, with weapon selection on the number keys or mouse wheel. It may feel more familiar if you prefer aiming and looking with a mouse; the sources do not establish that it is faster or more accurate than a controller.
Controller
The default layout uses both analog sticks, shoulder controls, face buttons, and D-pad selections. Steam lists controller support, but the available documentation does not guarantee compatibility with every third-party controller. If your device is not recognized or a binding feels awkward, try the in-game control options before assuming the default layout cannot be changed.

What to try if performance is still poor
The documented starting points are the in-game video options and a comparison with the published PC requirements. Driver changes, compatibility settings, or display-mode adjustments are not verified fixes for this game in the cited sources. If you test any such change, treat it as a troubleshooting experiment: note the original setting, change one variable at a time, and revert it if there is no clear benefit or the game becomes less stable.
The official Steam listing describes the PC release as rebuilt with updated visuals, lighting, and refined controls, but that product description is not a measured performance result. No FPS target, graphics-quality slider details, or validated optimization procedure is established by the available documentation.
