To improve Kay Vess’s standing with a syndicate in Star Wars Outlaws, complete contracts for that faction, give its data to an affiliated merchant, and take opportunities to help its members. Story choices can also raise one faction’s reputation, but may lower another’s. To protect your standing, avoid being caught stealing or trespassing in syndicate territory and weigh any contract betrayal before choosing it.
Choose the syndicate you want to support
Reputation is tracked separately for the Pyke Syndicate, Crimson Dawn, Hutt Cartel, and Ashiga Clan. Decide which group’s territory, jobs, goods, or rewards matter most to you, then check the consequences shown for contracts and story choices. Some decisions benefit one syndicate at another’s expense, so there is no guaranteed way to maximize every faction at once.

Zerek Besh is a special case in Ubisoft’s description: Kay cannot take its jobs or improve reputation with it in that setup. It is not one of the four main reputation relationships described there. Ubisoft’s Xbox Wire guide explains the distinction.
Complete contracts for the faction you want to favor
Syndicate contracts are a direct way to gain standing with the hiring faction. Ubisoft says successful jobs improve the client relationship; a failed contract can hurt reputation with both the client and the target. Read the objective and outcome carefully before accepting, especially when the job involves another syndicate. Ubisoft’s gameplay walkthrough describes contract risks and reputation consequences.

Some jobs let you betray the client in favor of another group. That may improve your relationship with the beneficiary, but it can cost standing with the client; treat it as a trade-off, not a free reputation bonus. The exact result depends on the contract and the choice you make.
Turn syndicate data in to an affiliated merchant
Data found while exploring can improve reputation when you hand it to a merchant affiliated with the matching syndicate. Check the vendor’s affiliation on the map or in the game interface before turning it in. Giving the item to a merchant from another faction may not produce the increase you want. Take smaller opportunities to build standing
Two additional opportunities reported by PC Gamer are helping syndicate members during random encounters and winning Kessel Sabacc in a cardroom in a syndicate district. The guide describes the Sabacc gain as small and one-off, so treat it as a supplementary boost rather than a repeatable substitute for contracts.
Avoid actions that can cost reputation
Getting caught stealing, trespassing, or fighting openly in faction territory can damage relations. Ubisoft specifically warns that open fire inside a syndicate’s territory lowers reputation. If you need to enter a rival’s area, stealth can help you avoid detection-related losses; it does not erase the trade-off from a deliberate betrayal or a mission outcome that penalizes standing.

- Before betraying a contract client, consider whether the benefit from the other faction is worth the possible loss.
What reputation unlocks—and what low standing can bring
Reputation affects access to faction territory, jobs, merchant goods, and rewards. Good standing can make it easier to enter territory and access faction gear; poor standing can make a group hostile, and syndicate assassins may hunt Kay. Reputation is therefore most useful when built toward a practical goal—such as a job, area, or reward—rather than treated as a score to raise indiscriminately. The available guides do not establish one universally fastest method or exact reputation-point values. Contracts and correctly matched data turn-ins are clear ways to build standing, but the best choice depends on the faction and reward you want.
