To restore Vitality during a fight, use recovery actions described in your Mystic Arts and Inner Way tooltips. These are separate goals: a larger maximum does not refill your current combat resource.
First, identify which Vitality problem you have
Vitality is the combat resource used by Mystic Arts. It is different from Energy, which is used for activity reward claims, and Stamina, associated with crafting and gathering. English labels may differ across languages or versions, so check the HUD and activity screen if a guide uses a different resource name.
- Maximum Vitality: You want a larger pool to draw from. The reported progression route is regional Oddities, then the corresponding trader’s Melodies of Peace menu.
- Current Vitality: You have spent the resource in combat and need to recover it. Check your attack and equipped Inner Way descriptions for applicable recovery effects.
How to increase your maximum Vitality
- Explore for regional Oddities. Collect the Oddities associated with the region whose progression you want to advance.
- Visit the matching Oddity trader. The guides name Qi Sheng for Qinghe and Bai Ji for Kaifeng.
- Open Melodies of Peace. Spend the relevant Oddities on its progression to increase the maximum pool. This is a cap upgrade, not an in-fight refill.
- Follow any unlock prompt. If Melodies of Peace is unavailable, use the trader or quest tracker’s current requirement. One guide reports that Kaifeng requires the Oddity Melody Hunt Exploration Quest; treat the in-game tracker as definitive for your version.
- Check the result in-game. After spending Oddities, inspect the resource panel to confirm the upgrade applied.
The exact current maximum, gain per node, and complete upgrade schedule are not established by an authoritative current stat table. A community-wiki stub gives “Max Vitality +10” as an example for Music of Great Martial I, but that should not be treated as the full cap or a confirmed current total.
How to restore Vitality during combat
Attack enemies
A community wiki entry reports that attacking enemies restores Vitality. It is marked as a stub and does not establish a verified current formula, so rely on your live resource display rather than assuming a particular amount or rate.

Check Fury Harvest’s conditions
The Fury Harvest Inner Way reference describes conditional bonus Vitality from specified recovery actions. It says the bonus does not apply to Vitality gained by attacking, taking a hit, or successfully deflecting an attack. Tier descriptions add other triggers, including a later-tier refund after using Mystic Arts. Read the equipped Inner Way’s current tier text: not every recovery action triggers the same bonus.
Verify the action and equipped Inner Way
Inspect the tooltip for the Mystic Art or other action you are using, then check the text of your equipped Inner Way. After changing an Inner Way, verify the active effect and resource panel in-game instead of assuming a bonus applies to every source of Vitality.
