The project says it can run Bloodborne, but it is early in development and does not promise a flawless experience. What you need to know before setting up
- There is no official native PC version in the sources reviewed. Sony lists Bloodborne as a PS4 game, released March 24, 2015. The official US PlayStation Store listing is for PS4: Sony’s Bloodborne product page and US PlayStation Store listing.
- PC play means emulation. shadPS4 describes itself as an early PlayStation 4 emulator for Windows, Linux, and macOS. Its README says it can successfully run games including Bloodborne, while cautioning: “shadPS4 is early in development, don’t expect a flawless experience.” This is the project’s own status statement, not a guarantee that the game will work well on every computer: official shadPS4 project.
- You need a legitimate copy of the PS4 game for an emulation setup. Sony’s listing verifies the PS4 product, but buying a copy alone does not configure or guarantee that it will run on PC. Do not substitute unauthorized game-file downloads for a game you are entitled to use.
- Check compatibility and system guidance before investing in hardware. The sources do not establish a reliable minimum PC specification for Bloodborne specifically. General emulator requirements are not a promise of this game’s performance.
How to install and run Bloodborne on PC
Use shadPS4’s current end-user instructions for the exact build you download. Its project separates the emulator core from the QtLauncher interface and directs users to its Quickstart and compatibility information; details can change as development continues.

- Check the current game status. Open shadPS4’s game compatibility resource and look up Bloodborne. Read the notes for the current version and your platform; do not assume an older report describes the latest build.

The documented workflow, supported interface, and requirements may evolve, so use the instructions matching your downloaded version.
- Configure your game using the project’s supported workflow. Follow the current Quickstart for adding and configuring a game copy you are entitled to use. Do not rely on settings copied from another user’s post unless they match your emulator version and platform.
- Launch and troubleshoot against current documentation. If the game fails to start or behaves unexpectedly, compare your setup with the compatibility notes and project guidance for the same version before changing settings or replacing files.
How certain is Bloodborne’s PC compatibility?
shadPS4’s README says the emulator can successfully run games such as Bloodborne. That describes the project’s reported capability; it does not establish a universal compatibility grade, stable frame rate, or reliable experience on a particular system. The project website listed shadPS4 v0.19.0, released October 1, 2026, but compatibility is version-sensitive. Check the live compatibility information rather than treating that release number as a performance verdict.
No source here verifies a single hardware configuration or minimum specification that will reliably run Bloodborne in shadPS4. Check the project’s current operating-system and hardware guidance and recent game reports before buying components or assuming your PC will be suitable.
