TakistanPlus is a 12,800 × 12,800 metre terrain (164 km²) with 480,000 placed objects, according to its author CypeRevenge (2021). The Workshop listing and host-panel behavior can change, so verify the live item status, change notes and DayZ-version compatibility before you begin.

- A DayZ dedicated server, either on your own Windows machine or through a host with Workshop/Mod Manager support.
- Access to the server root, startup parameters,
mpmissions,keysand log/RPT output for a manual installation. - TakistanPlus Workshop item 2563233742.
- Dabs Framework Workshop item 2545327648, which TakistanPlus lists as required.
- DayZ Steam App ID 221100 for SteamCMD downloads.
- A backup location for the active mission and persistence files before every mission update.
The map is not installed by changing only the default Chernarus mission. Its terrain files and its mission are separate pieces, and both must be configured.
Understand the files and load order
SteamCMD places Workshop content in steamapps/workshop/content/221100/<WorkshopID>/. Those numeric directories identify downloads, not normally the names used in DayZ’s -mod= parameter. At the server root, expose each item as a readable mod directory, for example:

-mod=@Dabs Framework;@TakistanPlusPaths are relative to the server root and separated with semicolons. TakistanPlus is a terrain that clients need, so it belongs in -mod=, not -servermod=. Reserve -servermod= for genuinely server-only additions.

Open the current TakistanPlus Workshop listing and confirm that item 2563233742 is the terrain you intend to run. Confirm that its required-item section still names Dabs Framework, item 2545327648. Steam pages can display removal or incompatibility notices, and compatibility can change after a DayZ patch; do not rely on an old cached download or an old panel entry.
The listing describes warm sandstorms. It directs server owners to README ServerSettings.txt for mission-side setup and warns that players should shelter in a building or vehicle because exposure can cause overheating and rapid dehydration. Read that file after the basic installation rather than assuming the default mission contains the required settings.
Step 2: Download the Workshop content
Self-hosted server with SteamCMD
Stop the server before copying or replacing mod files. From the SteamCMD directory, run the DayZ download command once for each Workshop item, replacing <WorkshopID> with the ID shown:

Keep the names stable so your startup parameter continues to point to the right directories. If the downloaded package contains a different metadata name, follow that name where your launcher requires it; do not put the raw numeric Workshop directory in -mod= unless your particular tool explicitly supports it.
Managed host with a Workshop panel
Stop the server, open the host’s Mod Manager or Workshop installer, select TakistanPlus, and let the panel install its required Dabs Framework item. Start only after both entries report as installed. A documented TakistanPlus workflow on GTXGaming follows this stop–install–dependency–start sequence and exposes a console or log viewer for the first boot. Panel labels vary, so look for the equivalent Workshop, Mod Manager, startup-command and log controls rather than copying a label from another host.
Step 3: Put the folders at the server root
After downloading, check that both named folders are visible beside the server executable (or at the root path configured by your panel). Each should contain the mod’s normal directory structure, not an extra level created by an archive extraction. A common mistake is ending up with @TakistanPlus2563233742... instead of the mod files directly under @TakistanPlus.
Before starting, confirm all of the following:
@Dabs Frameworkexists and contains the downloaded dependency files.@TakistanPlusexists and contains the terrain files.- The startup entry uses semicolons, not commas, between the two relative paths.
- Dabs Framework appears before TakistanPlus in the same
-mod=value. - No stale duplicate folder is being selected by a second launcher profile.
Step 4: Configure the startup parameters
Add the two folders to the server’s launch command or host-panel startup field:
-mod=@Dabs Framework;@TakistanPlusDo not put either item in -servermod= simply to hide a loading error; players must receive the map and its required client-side dependency. If you already use other client mods, append them with semicolons while preserving the dependency-before-dependent relationship:
-mod=@Dabs Framework;@TakistanPlus;@YourOtherClientModKeep the spelling, spaces and capitalization consistent with the actual directories and with the syntax accepted by your launcher. If a panel generates its own startup line, inspect the generated command so you can confirm it has not reversed the two entries.

Step 5: Install and select the TakistanPlus mission
Copy the supplied Offline.TakistanPlus mission folder into the server’s mpmissions directory. Then set the corresponding mission name in serverDZ.cfg, or in the host’s configuration editor, so the server starts that mission instead of the default Chernarus one.
mpmissionsOffline.TakistanPlusThe mission is where TakistanPlus-specific loot and spawn configuration lives. In particular, the map’s types.xml and related files must be edited in this mission folder. Editing a Chernarus mission while the server points to TakistanPlus will not change the running map.
Use the exact folder name supplied by the current package. A practical community sequence is to copy @TakistanPlus, copy Offline.TakistanPlus into mpmissions, copy the mod key into keys, and add the mod to startup. The required Dabs Framework dependency and its load order are additional requirements for the current package.
Step 6: Install keys for a manual setup and boot
For a manual installation, copy the TakistanPlus .bikey into the server’s keys directory. Copy any dependency key supplied with Dabs Framework or another downloaded mod as well. A missing key can prevent a mod from being accepted even when its folder is present.
Start the server and watch the web console, RPT file or host log viewer from the first lines onward. A successful first boot should show the server progressing past mod loading and selecting the TakistanPlus mission. Do not treat a process that remains running as proof that the correct mission loaded; verify the mission name and inspect warnings in the log.
Configure TakistanPlus sandstorms
Sandstorms are a map-specific feature rather than a generic DayZ setting. The Workshop listing tells server owners to read README ServerSettings.txt and configure the mission accordingly. Follow the instructions in that file within your copied mission, then test the result with a small admin group.

The author’s warning is practical: players caught outside should seek a building or vehicle, or the storm can cause overheating and rapid dehydration. Do not advertise a custom storm schedule or severity unless you have set and verified it in the mission files; the listing does not establish universal defaults for those values.
Updating without losing mission edits
Update the Workshop mods
Update TakistanPlus and Dabs Framework as Workshop mods, using SteamCMD or the host’s Mod Manager. Stop the server first, keep a copy of the currently working folders, and check the Workshop change notes for DayZ compatibility before replacing files.
Update the mission separately
A Workshop update does not automatically update an edited mission. In the documented panel workflow, an updated mission is generated as Offline.TakistanPlus_UPDATED. Back up the live Offline.TakistanPlus and persistence data, then compare the old and new folders. Merge or cherry-pick your custom XML edits into the updated folder before making it live. Persistence files are copied into the generated folder by that workflow, but you should still verify their contents against your backup.
- Stop the server and back up the active mission and persistence files.
- Install the new Workshop versions of TakistanPlus and Dabs Framework.
- Obtain the updated mission folder supplied by the panel or package.
- Compare custom
.xmlfiles, including loot and spawn changes, with the new versions. - Merge your intentional edits into
Offline.TakistanPlus_UPDATED; do not blindly overwrite new files with the old folder. - Point
serverDZ.cfgto the final mission folder and boot while watching logs.
If the update removes a setting, restore the backup and repeat the merge with a file-by-file comparison. Keep the previous mission available for rollback until players have connected successfully and persistence has been checked.
Self-hosting or a managed panel?
Both approaches perform the same underlying operations, but they expose different controls. Choose based on the controls you actually need, not on an assumed price; no current price is established here.

Troubleshooting by symptom
The server exits immediately
Open the RPT or panel log and look for a missing dependency, an invalid -mod= path or a load-order error. Confirm both named folders exist at the root, then compare the generated command with the configuration shown above. A malformed semicolon list or an extra archive directory can fail before the mission is read.

Players cannot join
Every client must have the same required Workshop mods and compatible versions. Ask affected players to verify that TakistanPlus and Dabs Framework are installed and updated, then compare their versions with the server’s downloaded content. A server-only installation is not sufficient for a map that clients must load.

The map starts, but loot or spawns are wrong
Check the mission name in serverDZ.cfg and confirm it points to Offline.TakistanPlus (or the updated folder you intentionally selected). Then inspect the types.xml and other spawn files inside that active mission, not inside the default Chernarus mission.
An update removed custom settings
Stop the server, restore the backed-up mission and persistence data, and merge your edits into the newly generated mission before switching the configuration back. Do not assume that replacing the Workshop folder restores mission-side XML changes.
The map became incompatible after a DayZ patch
Check the live TakistanPlus Workshop change notes, the current Dabs Framework item and the author’s support channels. Compatibility can change over time, and the captured Workshop pages have displayed removal or incompatibility notices. If the author has not published a compatible update, keep the previous working files backed up and avoid presenting the map as available to players until the current status is clear.
Licensing and monetized servers
The TakistanPlus listing grants end users permission to download, install and play the terrain with DayZ in its original form. Its license text also prohibits redistribution, modification and certain commercial uses, and specifies a ceiling or condition for server monetization. Those terms are specific to the author’s listing and may change.
Read the current license and reconcile it with Bohemia Interactive’s current server and monetization rules before charging for access, selling perks or otherwise operating a monetized server.
