Install the update on PS5
- Connect the PS5 to the internet and confirm that the PS5 edition of The Witcher 3 is installed.
- Highlight the game on the PS5 home screen or in your game list.
- Press the controller’s Options button and select Check for Update.
- If an update is available, follow the prompts and let the download and installation finish before starting the game.
- Launch the game and check any version or build information exposed by its interface or the console interface. Compare the displayed game build with the target for the installed PS5 title.

What 5.000.200 and Patch 5.00b mean
CD PROJEKT RED’s Patch 5.00b announcement, dated 1 October 2026, says the update is live for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and the PC Xbox Play Anywhere version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered. A recent PS5 player report identifies the Remastered build as v5.000.200. The publisher announcement does not print that numeric build, so it does not independently confirm that 5.000.200 is the PS5 build for Patch 5.00b.
Patch 5.00b includes lighting adjustments, including fixes for some interiors that appeared too dark, and other adjustments intended to ensure parity with the PC version. The announcement’s DLSS fix applies specifically to the PC Xbox Play Anywhere version; it is not listed as a PS5 change.

Check the game build—not the PS5 system software
Keep the game’s version separate from the PS5’s system software version. PlayStation’s console-information instructions verify the system software, not the installed Witcher 3 build. The official sources cited here do not establish an exact in-game menu path for finding the string 5.000.200, so use the version information actually shown by your game or console interface rather than relying on an assumed path.
If the update is missing or fails
If Check for Update finds nothing, or the download or installation does not complete, use PlayStation’s troubleshooting sequence:

- Test the PS5’s internet connection.
- Restart the console and try checking again.
- Make sure PS5 system software is current.
- Reinstall the game if necessary.
- As a later troubleshooting step, use Safe Mode’s Clear Cache and Rebuild Database option.

CD PROJEKT RED describes The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered as available on PS5 and frames it as a free upgrade for owners of the game. The actual entitlement can depend on your edition and account, so check your PS5 library or store listing for the version available to you.
