To interact with a web page embedded in OBS Studio, select its Browser Source and click Interact in the source toolbar. You can also right-click the source and choose Interact. A separate window opens for clicking, scrolling, and typing on the embedded page.
Open the Browser Source interaction window
- In your OBS scene, add a Browser Source or select the one already in the Sources dock. Browser Source embeds a web page in the scene; common uses include alerts and chat boxes. OBS Sources Guide
- Select the source, then click Interact in the source toolbar. Alternatively, right-click the source in the Sources dock and choose Interact. OBS forum guidance

Check the Browser Source settings
If the wrong page appears or the content does not fit the scene, select the source and open Properties. Confirm whether it loads a URL or a local file, then adjust the viewport width and height to suit the layout. OBS documents default dimensions of 800 by 600 pixels. Refresh a page that looks stale
In Browser Source properties, use Refresh cache of current page to reload the current page when it appears outdated. If the source is configured to unload while hidden, it can reload when shown; OBS also documents an option to refresh when the scene becomes active. These visibility options can affect how quickly a page is ready after switching scenes. OBS Browser Source documentation
If you need to work in a regular browser instead
Interact operates the page inside OBS’s embedded Browser Source. An alternative is to open the page in your ordinary browser and capture that browser window in OBS. That keeps page interaction in the regular browser rather than an OBS interaction window, but it is a different capture workflow. Troubleshooting
- The page displays, but clicking does nothing: make sure you opened Interact for the selected Browser Source; viewing the source in the scene alone does not open its interaction window.
- The wrong page loads: open the source’s Properties and verify its URL or local-file selection.
- The page content is cut off or scaled poorly: adjust the Browser Source viewport width and height to match the intended scene layout.
- The displayed page is outdated: use Refresh cache of current page in the source properties.
- The page is not ready after switching scenes: review whether the source unloads while hidden and whether it refreshes when its scene becomes active.
- You need to operate the page in your usual browser: capture that browser window instead; account for audio separately if the chosen capture setup does not include it.
Browser Source is powered by Chrome Embedded Framework (CEF). OBS lists it for Windows, macOS, and Linux through official packages; the obs-browser project says it is included by default in official packages on Windows, macOS, the Ubuntu PPA, and the official Flatpak.
