Check the current terms and your broker’s eligibility, costs and local tax requirements before placing an order.

Choose which Nintendo security to investigate
Nintendo’s ordinary shares are listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Prime Market under stock code 7974. The company’s FAQ says one trading unit is 100 shares, so do not assume you can place a single-share or fractional-share order through every broker or route. Nintendo FAQ

The notice dated September 7, 2022 recorded a ratio of one ordinary share to four depositary receipts. Check whether your broker supports the route
Availability depends on your country, broker and account type. Ask whether the account can trade 7974 on the Tokyo exchange, NTDOY over the counter, or both, and whether any residency or account restrictions apply. SEC investor guidance explains generally that U.S. investors can buy U.S.-traded ADRs through a U.S. broker, and that brokers may also process orders for securities traded on foreign exchanges; it does not guarantee access to either Nintendo instrument through a particular broker. Compare the practical costs and mechanics
If both routes are available to you, compare them using the broker’s current instrument-specific terms. The routes may differ in trading currency, market hours, order types, liquidity, settlement, dividend handling and custody administration.
- Access: Confirm that your residence and account type are eligible for the security.
- Currency: Tokyo-listed shares are quoted in yen. Ask what currency NTDOY trades and pays dividends in, and whether conversions apply.
- Total trading costs: Check commissions, exchange charges, foreign-exchange spreads, bid-ask spreads and any depositary or receipt fees.
- Order and settlement details: Ask about available order types, trading hours, settlement timing, liquidity, and whether odd-lot or fractional orders are supported.
- Shareholder administration: Find out how dividends, voting and corporate actions are presented and handled in your account.
- Taxes: Withholding and home-country reporting depend on your tax residence and account. Check current official guidance for your jurisdiction or consult a qualified tax professional.

Use Nintendo’s investor disclosures to follow the company
Nintendo’s investor-relations site provides company financial reports and investor information. Its landing page currently lists November 5, 2026 for the next six-month earnings release and September 30, 2026 as the interim-dividend record date. Verify calendar information on the company’s site before relying on it, since schedules can change. Nintendo Investor Relations
Nintendo’s English FAQ notes that Japanese originals prevail if there is a discrepancy with a translation. The company’s share-status page reports 1,287,260,000 shares outstanding as of March 31, 2026; that figure is company-published share data, not a forecast of investment performance.
