If you mean “invite code” as a way to add someone on Fortnite for iPhone or iPad, Epic’s published instructions use the player’s Epic display name and a friend request—not a universal invite code. Inviting that friend into your party is a separate step, controlled by your party’s joinability setting.
How to add a Fortnite friend on iPhone or iPad
- From the Fortnite lobby, open your profile icon.
- Select Add Friends.
- Enter the other player’s Epic display name, then select Add Friend. Epic says you’ll see confirmation that the request was sent. Epic’s friend-adding instructions describe these steps; they do not include iPhone- or iPad-specific screenshots.
- Ask the other player to accept the request. They can open their profile, choose Add Friends, select your display name, and choose Accept. Once accepted, you appear in each other’s friend lists, whether online or offline.
Use the exact control names shown in your version of Fortnite if the labels differ slightly.
How to invite that friend to your party
After adding the player, use your profile or party controls to send them a party invitation. First check Party Joinability, which determines whether friends can enter directly or need an invitation or approved join request. Epic describes parties as available in Fortnite and its listed desktop and mobile apps; party members can also invite their own friends. Joinable
Friends and connections can join a Joinable party, making it easier for them to enter without waiting for a direct invitation.

Invite Only
Invite Only gives the party host more control: a player needs an invitation or an approved request to join. A party member can change the joinability setting, and Epic says members are notified when it changes. The preference is saved to the account and follows the player across the Epic surfaces covered by the setting. Epic’s party-joinability instructions
Why a friend may not be able to join
- The request is missing or unaccepted: Check that you entered the correct Epic display name. The other player can find the request through Profile > Add Friends, select your name, and choose Accept. Epic’s friend-adding instructions
- The party is Invite Only: Send an invitation or approve the friend’s request to join. Check the joinability setting if they cannot enter. Epic Parties FAQ
- The account has age-related restrictions: Epic says accounts belonging to players under 18 and cabined accounts start with Invite Only. Parental controls can also limit communication. - Your friend appears Away: With mobile social notifications enabled, a friend may still invite you while you appear Away, but they cannot directly join your party in that state. Epic’s Away-status guidance
Can you install Fortnite on an iPhone or iPad?
Availability depends on your region and can change. Epic’s support page says Fortnite is available through the App Store on iPhone and iPad except in Australia. It also lists the Epic Games Store for iPhone and iPad in the EU, Japan, and Brazil, and AltStore PAL in the EU. Check Epic’s mobile-download availability page for current regional details before trying to install the game.
