You can’t join an arbitrary live Blooket game through the standard join flow: you need the host’s game code, QR code, or shared join link. Ask the host for one. If you mean a random player name, the host can enable Use Random Names—that setting generates a nickname, not a game to join.
Join a live Blooket game
- Ask the host for the game code, QR code, or join link. The host gets those details after choosing a question set and game mode and starting the hosting flow. Blooket’s hosting guide explains the host setup.
- Go to play.blooket.com and enter the code, scan the host’s QR code, or open the link the host shared. Blooket’s joining instructions describe these entry options.
- Enter a nickname, or use a randomly generated name if the host has enabled Use Random Names. Choose a Blook while you wait for the game to start. A student account is not required to join a live game.
What if you don’t have a code or link?
Ask the person hosting for the entry details. Blooket’s documented live-game join options are a code, QR code, or shared link; they do not describe an open queue for finding arbitrary live games. The random-name setting only changes your nickname.
Play Blooket solo instead
If you just want to play without joining someone else’s live session, you can start a solo game from a question set:
- Browse Discover and find a question set.
- Open the set and choose Solo.
- Choose a game mode and play. See Blooket’s solo-play guide for the steps.
Troubleshoot a failed join
If you have valid entry details but cannot get into the game, Blooket says a browser extension—such as an ad blocker—may interfere with site functions. Try disabling extensions for the site and retrying. Blooket also identifies a firewall blocking firebaseio.com as a possible reason joining or hosting may fail; if you are on a managed school or work network, ask its administrator about access. See Blooket’s troubleshooting guidance.
