Path of Bloodshed is a later sect objective: the reported sequence is 20 kills in the 1v1 Arena, a Ferryman-related Faded Decree objective, then hanging that decree at the Tree of Sin. Decree names and some quest details differ between guides, so use your active Sect Status objective to confirm the item before handing anything in.
How to find the Midnight Blades initiation
Go to the Halo Peak road
In Qinghe’s Sundara Land, approach the road toward Halo Peak and look for the injured or dying man and the associated event. One walkthrough calls it “To Save by Slaying” and says the optional level-25 Exploration Quest “Building: One Last Job” can lead into it; another describes a dying swordsman near a cliff by the Halo Peak boundary stone. Because the descriptions vary, follow the event marker and objective text shown in your client rather than relying on an exact landmark description. Follow the trail to Icchantika
Follow the blood trail downhill and inspect bodies that the game marks as interactable; the route then leads up the rocks toward Icchantika. Accounts disagree about whether you must wait for nightfall and which decree appears along the way. They report labels including Rogue Decree, White Decree, and other decree variants. Those labels are not consistent enough to treat one as universally correct. How to complete the joining objective
Guides broadly agree that the initiation involves a decree and a kill-related task, followed by returning to Icchantika to formalize membership. One route has Icchantika give you a decree and ask you to kill a living creature; after that, choose Midnight Blades in the Sects menu and speak with Icchantika again. The reported dialogue option is “Inherit Karmic Burden, join the sect,” with an Annihilation Decree turned in. Other accounts describe blood-staining a token before submission and report different dialogue or item names.

- Complete the kill objective shown by the active quest.
- Open the Sects menu and select Midnight Blades if the game presents the selection.
- Return to Icchantika and read the current dialogue and hand-in prompt carefully.
- Submit only the exact item named by the active objective. If the prompt does not match your quest, stop and re-check the objective rather than handing over a different decree.
The naming conflict is consequential because guides warn that a different decree can send the player toward another sect. A Steam Community route and a Game8 search result also describe variant token or decree details; the Game8 page itself was not available to verify beyond its search result, so treat it as lower-confidence corroboration. How to complete Path of Bloodshed
Path of Bloodshed is reported as a progression step after joining, not the initiation itself. Two detailed walkthroughs give this broad order:

- Complete “Inner Peace.” Hang the Faded Decree at the Tree of Sin and complete Path of Bloodshed as directed by the current objective.
One guide separately mentions a Faded Blood Token, while another describes the Ferryman step differently. Check the Sect Status page for the current objective names and required item before starting a hand-in; it is the best way to resolve differences between older walkthroughs and your client. Midnight Blades is presented as a PvP-focused sect: its reported progression includes Arena kills and other combat activity. It suits players who want faction advancement tied to fighting other players. If you would rather not commit to a sect, a general guide updated July 8, 2026 describes sects as optional and says players can learn a sect martial art through Skill Theft without joining.
