Register through Battlefy by 9:30 a.m. PT; the opening bracket starts at 10:00 a.m. PT, and the Top 4 are scheduled to be livestreamed from 1:00 p.m. PT. The tournament is open to eligible legal residents of the United States, Canada, and Mexico, and Nintendo says no purchase is necessary.
Who can enter?
Nintendo’s 2026 event rules set different minimum ages by country of legal residence:
- United States, including Washington, D.C.: age 13 or older.
- Canada: age 13 or older.
- Mexico: age 18 or older.
Participants also need access to a Nintendo Switch 2 system, Mario Tennis Fever, a Nintendo Account, reliable high-speed internet, and any Nintendo Switch Online membership. Nintendo says no purchase is necessary to enter; the listed access requirements do not mean you must buy a console or game for the tournament. The sponsor is Nintendo of America Inc. Nintendo’s event announcement and official rules summary provide the eligibility terms.
How do I register?
- Open the Mario Tennis Fever Open registration page on Battlefy.
- Complete the registration form. It may request your full name, home address (P.O. boxes are not accepted), phone number, date of birth, email, in-game name, 12-digit Nintendo Switch Friend Code, Nintendo Account email, and Nintendo Account User Support Number.
- Submit your entry before 9:30 a.m. PT on October 24, 2026. Registration opens October 5 at 9:00 a.m. PT.
Allow time to gather account details and submit the form before the cutoff. Nintendo directs players to register through Battlefy.

The announcement gives the livestream start time but does not name a streaming platform or viewing URL.
How does the tournament work?
Players compete one-on-one in best-of-three matches in a single-elimination bracket until four players remain. Those Top 4 then play a double-elimination bracket that is scheduled to be livestreamed. Nintendo’s rules summary says, “Skill of participating players determines the winner(s).”
