To keep a Hanuman Chalisa feed live on YouTube around the clock, send a continuous video-and-audio feed from an encoder—software on a computer or a dedicated hardware device—into a YouTube Studio stream. The computer, encoder, and upload connection must stay operational, and you need to monitor the feed and have rights to the exact recording and visuals. YouTube may not capture a stream that runs longer than 12 hours, so make a separate local recording if you need an archive.
Choose how to send the stream
Software encoder on a computer
A software encoder is the practical starting point if you already have a computer that can run continuously. It sends the prepared video and audio to YouTube over your internet connection. For a true 24/7 feed, the computer must remain powered on, the encoder must stay running, and the connection must remain available. Plan for power or network interruptions rather than assuming a single computer will never fail.
Dedicated hardware encoder
A hardware encoder is a separate appliance that sends a feed to YouTube. It can suit an installation intended to run continuously, but it is not a requirement for every creator. Choose between software and hardware based on your input sources, expected uptime, setup complexity, support needs, and backup plan—not on an assumption that YouTube requires expensive equipment. YouTube supports both encoder types and says expensive equipment is not necessary to get started (YouTube live streaming tips).
Prepare the channel and create the YouTube stream
- Confirm livestream eligibility. YouTube’s current guidance says the streamer must be at least 16, the channel must be verified, and it must have had no livestreaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. First-time livestream activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before you plan to go live. Check YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance for current requirements.
- Create or schedule an encoder stream in YouTube Studio. In the Live Control Room, create or schedule the stream and enter the stream details. Use YouTube’s encoder setup instructions for the current Studio flow.
- Copy the server URL and stream key into the encoder. The key identifies the feed YouTube should receive. Treat it like a password: do not publish it, show it on screen, or share it unnecessarily. If you believe it has been exposed, reset it in the Live Control Room and update the encoder with the new key. See Manage live stream settings.
- Start early and inspect the preview. YouTube recommends setting up well ahead of the event and starting the encoder at least 15 minutes before a scheduled start. Check the Live Control Room preview, then verify the public watch page and confirm that the video and audio are correct before relying on the feed.
Set encoder quality and test the connection
Use RTMP or RTMPS ingestion, constant bitrate (CBR) encoding, and a two-second keyframe interval; YouTube says not to exceed four seconds. Choose a resolution and bitrate the connection can sustain reliably. YouTube’s settings page lists quality-specific ranges; for example, its recommendation for 720p at 30 fps is 2 Mbps video, within a listed range of 1.5–4 Mbps. These are encoder guidelines, not a guarantee that your network or setup will remain stable (encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions).

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Test the actual outbound video and audio load, not just a speed-test result. The total stream bitrate must fit within available upload bandwidth.
- Leave 20% upload-bandwidth headroom, as YouTube recommends. Shared home or office networks can reduce the bandwidth available to the encoder, and network disruptions can break the feed (YouTube streaming tips).
- Listen for clean, consistent audio and check that the image is neither frozen nor unexpectedly cropped. Keep monitoring after launch; a successful preview does not establish that an always-on stream will remain healthy indefinitely.
Plan for interruptions and backups
A 24/7 stream depends on the encoder, power, and network continuing to work. Monitor audio and video continuously where possible, and decide in advance how you will respond if the feed stops. YouTube’s encoder guidance describes testing failover by stopping the primary encoder or disconnecting its Ethernet cable and checking whether playback rolls over to a backup encoder. Treat that as a test procedure, not a guarantee that a particular setup will fail over correctly (YouTube live streaming tips).
If you need a saved copy, record locally as well as streaming. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, but a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. Do not rely on the YouTube archive as the only copy of a continuous 24/7 broadcast (Archive live streams). You could instead operate shorter scheduled sessions if archives matter, but planned restarts do not guarantee gapless playback or a successful archive.

Clear rights for the exact chant and visuals
A devotional subject does not by itself clear a particular recording, performance, backing track, image, or video for broadcast. Confirm that you have the necessary rights for every asset you use, including the relevant territories. YouTube’s livestream terms place responsibility for those rights on the streamer, including music licensing rights (Livestream terms and conditions).
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A match can replace the stream with a placeholder; if it remains unresolved, YouTube may temporarily interrupt or terminate the broadcast. Even if you have a license for a third-party recording, the rights owner may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. Confirm this with the owner before broadcasting (Copyright issues with live streams).

Troubleshoot common failures
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check or do |
|---|---|---|
| Stream does not start in YouTube | Livestreaming is not enabled, activation is still pending, or the channel does not meet eligibility requirements. | Check channel verification, age and restriction status, and allow up to 24 hours for first-time activation. Review YouTube’s eligibility guidance. |
| YouTube receives no encoder feed | The server URL or stream key is incorrect, or the encoder is not sending. | Compare the encoder’s server URL and key with the stream in the Live Control Room. If the key may have been exposed, reset it and replace the saved key in the encoder (Manage live stream settings). |
| Feed drops, buffers, or becomes unstable | Available upload capacity is insufficient, another user or device is sharing the connection, or the network has been disrupted. | Test the real stream load, reduce the selected quality if needed, and preserve YouTube’s recommended 20% upload headroom. Check the connection and encoder health. |
| Image or audio quality is poor | Encoder settings exceed what the connection can sustain, or the source itself has a problem. | Check the source playback, audio levels, resolution, bitrate, CBR setting, and two-second keyframe interval. Use a quality setting that remains stable during a sustained test. |
| Live content is interrupted or replaced | A third-party content match may have been detected. | Review the rights for the exact recording and visuals, contact the rights owner, and confirm any required Content ID allowlisting before restarting. |
| No YouTube archive appears after a long session | The broadcast exceeded YouTube’s 12-hour archive threshold. | Check your local recording. For future sessions, plan a separate archive workflow; do not assume a long stream will be saved automatically. |
Or let it run in the cloud
