Use your channel’s audience geography and analytics to choose when to start; there is no established single best start time for all Indian viewers.
Build a day-long schedule, not just a start time
Use the dayparts below as a framework to test, not as a ranking of Indian audience size. The recommendations to plan around these blocks come from StreamNeo’s India playbook, not a nationally representative audience study. Check your channel analytics and audience locations to refine the timing.

There is no evidence here establishing a universal Indian start time or quantifying the relative size of morning, evening and overnight audiences. Choose a starting schedule, review performance and audience geography in YouTube Analytics, then adjust.
Prepare YouTube access before scheduling
- Check eligibility. Verify the channel and confirm it has no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. See YouTube’s live-streaming setup guidance.
- Enable live streaming early. YouTube for Artists advises enabling a first-time stream at least 24 hours before launch and recommends an unlisted test. Follow the current guidance at YouTube for Artists.
- Choose a production method. YouTube supports mobile, webcam, encoder and console streaming. An encoder is useful for a more controlled production or hardware such as microphones, cameras and preamps; it is not mandatory for every stream. Check the current options in YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room.
- Schedule the event. Set the title, description, visibility and image to match the actual devotional sequence. A scheduled event lets viewers see and share a start time; scheduling alone does not keep a broadcast running continuously.
- Test the full path. Start with an unlisted test, confirm the selected source and audio, and check that the stream appears as intended before promoting the public event.
- Plan monitoring and recovery. Decide who will notice a dropped source, power or network failure, or rights interruption and what they should do. YouTube’s copyright guidance explains possible interruptions, but does not prescribe a 24/7 uptime target or backup configuration.
Choose horizontal, vertical or dual format
Horizontal video is the conventional format for live viewing. Vertical live streams may be eligible for discovery in the Shorts feed, and YouTube’s Live Control Room guidance describes dual horizontal and vertical streaming with format-specific feature differences. Choose based on whether your devotional visuals work meaningfully in portrait orientation and whether Shorts-feed discovery matters to your channel. Check the current format settings in Studio; features can differ by format.

Do not buy a live streaming encoder solely because a 24/7 schedule requires one: YouTube also supports mobile and webcam approaches. If you do choose an encoder, confirm compatibility with your production and suitability for continuous use. The sources available do not establish a recommended model or minimum specification for a 24/7 workload.
Clear the actual recordings and visuals
A traditional bhajan is not automatically free to reuse in every recording. A composition, a modern arrangement or performance, and a particular sound recording can involve separate rights. The fact that a devotional song is old, appears on a CD, or is already available on YouTube does not by itself grant permission to rebroadcast that recording. Keep permission or license records for the specific audio and visuals in your loop.

YouTube states: “All live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content in the form of another live broadcast.” It may replace the stream with a placeholder image, warn you, interrupt the broadcast or terminate it if the material remains. Even licensed material can trigger an interruption unless the rights owner adds your channel to the Content ID allowlist. Review YouTube Help’s copyright guidance for live streams, and coordinate with a label or distributor when using protected music, as advised by YouTube for Artists.
Resolve permissions and any needed allowlisting before relying on a long scheduled broadcast. YouTube’s rules are platform enforcement guidance, not a determination of who owns rights in a particular recording.

Keep a continuous broadcast running
A scheduled YouTube event and a continuously operating playout source are different things: the event announces the broadcast, while a device or hosted service must supply the stream. A local computer is one possible setup, but it depends on that computer, its power and its network connection staying available. Hosted cloud playout is another option described by vendors, not a YouTube requirement or an independently validated reliability guarantee.

Troubleshoot before and during the stream
- Live streaming is unavailable: verify the channel and check whether a live-streaming restriction applies, including one in the prior 90 days. If this is the first broadcast, enable streaming ahead of time rather than waiting until launch.
- The scheduled event exists but no broadcast is playing: confirm that the selected production method or playout service has actually started sending the stream. A scheduled event by itself is not a continuously running source.
- The broadcast is interrupted after music begins: check YouTube’s copyright notice and identify the exact recording. Confirm your permission covers that recording and ask the rights owner about Content ID allowlisting where needed.
- The stream stops while unattended: check the source device, power and network, or the hosted service’s status and restart behavior. Use the recovery plan you prepared; there is no universal uptime or backup configuration prescribed for this use.
- The format does not appear as expected: inspect the current Live Control Room options and confirm the selected horizontal, vertical or dual format and its feature availability.
- Viewers miss the intended start: review audience geography and channel analytics, then adjust the scheduled time. Do not infer a national best time from a single channel’s results.
What audience statistics can and cannot tell you
YouTube for Artists reported that over 30% of daily logged-in YouTube viewers watched live content in Q2 2025. That is a platform-wide statistic for that quarter, not an India-specific or devotional-category figure, and it does not predict the audience for an individual 24/7 channel.
