If the lofi channel’s actual live broadcast has ended, a repeat setting on your device cannot restart it—the channel operator must start broadcasting again or keep the stream source running.
First, check what ended
A lofi “stream” might be an ordinary video, a playlist, or a live broadcast. The fix depends on which one you’re watching:
- One video ended: loop that video if it is still available.
- A playlist stopped: enable playlist repeat.
- The live broadcast ended: go back to the channel to see whether its operator has restarted it, or choose another available lofi video or playlist. Viewer controls cannot resume someone else’s broadcast.
Repeat a YouTube video or playlist
YouTube’s Help guidance says a video or playlist can be played on repeat. Choose the control for your device and whether you want to repeat one item or the full playlist.
On a computer
- Repeat one video: right-click inside the video player and select Loop.
- Repeat a playlist: open the playlist box beside the video and select Loop.
On a phone or tablet
- Repeat one video: open Settings, then Additional settings, then Loop video.
- Repeat a playlist: play a playlist and tap Loop in its control box. Tap Loop again to repeat only the current video; the control indicates this with a “1”.
On a TV or game console
While the video is playing, open the player controls and select Repeat. Select the option that repeats the current video or the playlist, depending on what you want to hear again.

If the live broadcast itself ended
Loop and Repeat affect available video playback; they do not make a YouTube channel continue broadcasting after its live output stops. As a viewer, check the channel for a restarted broadcast or play another available lofi video or playlist with repeat enabled. Only the channel operator can restart or maintain that channel’s live output.
For channel owners: ways to keep a lofi broadcast going
If you own the channel, continuous playback is a source-and-broadcast task. The two broad approaches are to keep an encoder and its connection running locally, or to use a cloud service that plays uploaded video as a live stream. Provider feature descriptions are not independent reliability tests; check the current capabilities and terms before choosing.

Run the source locally
A local encoder can loop media while it broadcasts, but the computer or VPS, encoder, and network connection must remain available. The StreamNeo guide describes OBS media-source looping and an FFmpeg loop on a VPS as examples. Configure the loop in the tool you use, then confirm that the encoder is still sending to YouTube and that playback resumes when the file ends. Exact setup depends on the encoder and source; a viewer cannot apply these controls to someone else’s channel.
Use a cloud playlist streamer
Cloud services can handle uploaded video playback without relying on a computer at home staying on. Compare whether a service supports one file and playlists, sends to your intended destination, lets you update items without disrupting a live broadcast, and documents recovery behavior. Confirm current pricing and limits directly with the provider; a feature description is not a guarantee of uninterrupted or seamless playback.
