1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesTo keep a YouTube Live product demo going after its video ends, loop the video in the encoder rather than relying on YouTube to replay it. In OBS Studio, add the file as a Media Source, enable Loop, then keep OBS streaming for as long as the broadcast should remain live.
Loop a single demo video in OBS
- Create the YouTube broadcast. In YouTube Studio, create or schedule an encoder-based live stream. Copy its stream URL and stream key into your encoder’s streaming settings. Treat the stream key like a password: it identifies where YouTube should accept your feed.
- Add the demo to an OBS scene. In OBS Studio, create or select the scene you want viewers to see. Add a Media Source, choose the local product-demo file, and enable Loop in the source properties. OBS documents that this setting restarts the file after playback completes; it is off by default.
- Preview the repeat point. Let the video reach its end and confirm that the scene starts playing it again. Check the transition and audio in the actual layout: official documentation does not guarantee a perfectly seamless visual or audio loop. If the cut is distracting, revise the file or production layout before the event.
- Start the feed and verify the broadcast. Start streaming in OBS, then check the preview in YouTube’s Live Control Room before the public start. Confirm the watch page is accessible as intended and monitor audio and video quality during the event.
- Keep OBS sending the feed. As long as the encoder continues sending the looping scene, the broadcast can continue after the original video reaches its end. To finish, stop the encoder feed and end the stream as appropriate in Live Control Room; YouTube’s encoder instructions describe stopping content from the encoder as the way to end an encoder stream.
Loop a playlist of demo clips
If the broadcast should rotate through several prerecorded segments, use OBS’s VLC Video source and enable Loop Playlist. OBS notes that VLC must be installed to use this source type. Preview the whole sequence, including its final-to-first transition, before going live.
Choose a single looping Media Source when viewers should see the same complete demo repeatedly. Choose a looping playlist when the presentation needs to cycle through multiple clips. The best option depends on how repetition should feel to viewers, so test the sequence and transitions in advance.
Check YouTube’s stream settings and recording limits
Auto-start and auto-stop
YouTube’s auto-start and auto-stop settings control whether the encoder can start or stop a broadcast. They do not loop a finished media file: that must be configured in OBS. When reusing YouTube stream settings, check these options because YouTube says reused settings also copy their selections.

Archives and DVR
YouTube automatically archives streams under 12 hours. For streams longer than 12 hours, DVR rewind may be limited or unavailable. If viewers need to review the demo later, plan for that separately rather than promising a complete rewind or archive for a longer broadcast.
Redirecting viewers after the event
If the demo should end and send viewers to a Premiere or another live stream, YouTube Live Redirect may suit that handoff. It does not replay the current demo or keep the same broadcast running. YouTube advises setting up the Premiere first and asking viewers to wait about two seconds for their screens to reload.

Troubleshoot a stream that stops or fails to loop
- The broadcast ends with the file: Check that Loop is enabled on the correct OBS Media Source. It is off by default. Also confirm that OBS itself is still streaming; a looping source cannot keep a broadcast alive if the encoder stops sending.
- The playlist stops after its last clip: Confirm that you are using OBS’s VLC Video source and have enabled Loop Playlist. Make sure VLC is installed.
- The loop has a visible or audible gap: Review the transition in the scene before the event. The documentation does not promise a seamless loop; adjust the media or production layout if the transition is unsuitable.
- The YouTube preview is missing or incorrect: Check the encoder’s stream URL and key, confirm the intended scene is active, and inspect the Live Control Room preview before starting publicly.
- Audio or video quality changes during the event: Monitor the stream throughout and test the full intended setup ahead of time, as YouTube recommends.

Copyright and channel eligibility
Looping a video solves the playback problem; it does not establish that you have the rights to stream everything in it or that the channel meets YouTube’s requirements for live streaming. Check that the demo’s video, music, images, and other included material are cleared for your use, and review YouTube’s current live-streaming rules before scheduling a public event.
