You usually do not link Clash of Clans on an iPhone directly to Google Play Games. The current iPhone route is to load the right village through Game Center, then connect it to Supercell ID. You can use a Gmail address for the Supercell ID, but that makes Gmail the email where Supercell sends login codes—it does not connect the village to Google Play Games.
Supercell ID is the cross-device method for moving a village between iPhone and Android. The steps below follow Supercell’s published setup instructions; button wording can vary slightly by app version or account state. Supercell’s account-saving guide starts in the game’s Settings menu.
Before you link the village
- Open Clash of Clans and make sure the village you want to keep is the one currently loaded.
- Open your player profile and record the Player Tag, which begins with
#. It can help Support identify the account, but it does not prove ownership by itself. Supercell’s Player Tag guide explains where to find it. - Have access to the email address you plan to use. If it is already associated with a Supercell ID, use the login flow for that ID rather than trying to register it as new.
- If you have more than one village, record each village’s name, Player Tag, Town Hall level, and clan so you can tell them apart.
- Do not delete the game, reset the iPhone, or abandon the currently loaded village until you have confirmed the connection.
Connect your iPhone village to Supercell ID
- Open Clash of Clans and wait for the intended village to load.
- Tap Settings in the game.
- Find the Supercell ID section and tap it.
- Choose Create A New Supercell ID or the equivalent Register New option displayed in your game.
- Enter a valid email address and tap Send Email. A Gmail address is fine if it is available for a new Supercell ID.
- Open the message from Supercell, retrieve the verification code, return to the game, and enter the code. Tap Submit and complete any remaining prompts.
- Open the Supercell ID menu again and confirm that the account is connected. Check the village name and Player Tag before proceeding.
Supercell describes setup as free and uses email verification codes for sign-in rather than a conventional password. The email must be valid; some domains may not be accepted. See the setup instructions and Supercell ID overview.
What Gmail does—and does not—do
When you enter a Gmail address during Supercell ID setup, the village is being connected to Supercell ID. Gmail is the destination for Supercell’s verification emails; it is not, by itself, a Google Play Games connection or a way to restore a village that was never linked to that Supercell ID.

If the email is already tied to a Supercell ID, choose the login option and retrieve its code instead of registering a new ID. If Supercell rejects an address as unsupported, try another valid email address.
Load the linked village on another phone
- Install Clash of Clans on the new iPhone or Android device and open it.
- Choose Supercell ID from the login screen or the game’s Settings menu, then choose Log in.
- Enter the email associated with the village’s Supercell ID.
- Enter the newest verification code sent by Supercell.
- Before accepting an account-load prompt, check the village name and Player Tag against the details you recorded.

If the village currently loads through Game Center
Game Center is Apple’s gaming account system used in the iOS loading process. If the wrong village appears—or no expected village appears—make sure the intended Apple account is active in Game Center before launching Clash of Clans. Once the correct village loads, use the in-game Settings menu to attach it to Supercell ID.
Supercell’s multi-account instructions say to configure the correct Google or Game Center account, open the game, and then attach the loaded village to Supercell ID. The precise location of Game Center controls in iPhone Settings can change, so use the current iOS Settings search or account controls rather than relying on a fixed menu path. If the Google button is missing
A missing Google button does not establish that a village is lost. Supercell’s current instructions for switching Google accounts direct Android users to Google Play Games or Android device Settings. On iPhone, check Game Center for a village that has not yet been connected to Supercell ID; if it is already linked, sign in with the associated Supercell ID email rather than searching for a Google button. Switch between multiple villages on one iPhone
Supercell identifies Supercell ID as the supported method for playing multiple game accounts on one device. Connect each village to its intended Supercell ID, and verify the Player Tag each time you switch.

- Connect the first village to its own Supercell ID.
- Load the second village using its existing login or the correct Game Center account.
- In Clash of Clans, open Settings and log out of the active Supercell ID.
- If needed, choose Play without Supercell ID on the title screen to load the second local account.
- Once the intended second village is visible, attach it to its own Supercell ID.
- For later switches, use Login with Supercell ID and, where shown, Login with another ID. On a personal, secure device, you can leave Remember me on this device enabled.
Only the latest verification code sent will work. Supercell’s instructions also say that on iOS a device reset wipes saved logins; uninstalling the app wipes saved Supercell IDs on Android. See the multi-account instructions.

The wrong village loaded
- Stop before accepting a village you do not recognize.
- Check which Game Center account is active, then check whether the intended village is already connected to a Supercell ID.
- Use Login with another ID if the village is linked to a different Supercell ID.
- Compare the Player Tag, village name, Town Hall level, and clan before continuing.
- Do not create a new Supercell ID for the wrong village if you are trying to recover an existing linked village.
The verification email has not arrived or the code is rejected
- Check the spelling of the email address, then look in spam, junk, promotions, and filtered folders; search your mailbox for Supercell.
- Wait briefly before requesting another code. If several messages arrive, use only the newest code.
- Never share a verification code with another person. Use it only in Clash of Clans.
- If the email is already associated with another Supercell ID, use that ID’s login flow rather than new-account registration.
The account was never linked, or you cannot access it
Supercell may be able to help recover an unlinked account after checking ownership; recovery is not guaranteed. If you can open the game, go to Settings → Help and Support, then tap the contact button in the top-right corner. Provide the Player Tag, account name, account level, clan name, and purchase transaction IDs if available. A Player Tag alone is not sufficient proof. Supercell’s lost-account instructions.

Use only in-game or official Supercell Support channels. Do not give verification codes to third-party recovery services or account sellers.
The iPhone cannot run a current game version
Supercell has published an update-specific notice that Clash of Clans would no longer be available on Apple devices below iOS 15 after the specified update. Treat that as a dated compatibility notice, not a permanent minimum for every future version; check the notice for its applicable update and timing.
