To change League of Legends’ camera-follow behavior, open the in-game Camera menu and inspect Dynamic Camera. Riot says enabling WASD input initially turns Dynamic Camera on, and that you can disable it in the Camera menu. The cited guidance does not verify a standalone camera-lock hotkey, so check the binding in your own client before relying on a specific key.
What camera lock changes
A camera-follow setting keeps your champion visible as you move. With a free-moving camera, you can move the view away from your champion to look elsewhere on the map. These are different ways to control the view; changing the camera option is not the same as changing your movement input.
Change Dynamic Camera in the game settings
- Open League of Legends and go to the in-game settings.
- Open the Camera menu.
- Find Dynamic Camera and disable it if you do not want that behavior.
Riot Games Support identifies the Camera menu as the place to disable Dynamic Camera. Its guidance is specifically about WASD input: enabling WASD initially activates Dynamic Camera so your champion stays visible on screen. This does not establish that every player has the same setting enabled by default. Riot’s WASD input FAQ was published May 4, 2026, and is available here in Czech.
Find or change the camera-lock key binding
The Riot FAQ cited above does not document a standalone keyboard shortcut for toggling camera lock. To confirm the current binding in your installation, open the in-game settings and inspect the keyboard controls for the camera-lock action. If the listed binding is not convenient, use the client’s controls menu to assign a different key, then test it in a match or practice session. The exact action label and menu path may vary with the client’s current controls layout; the cited FAQ does not provide a verified key or a full menu walkthrough.

If the camera behavior is not what you expect
- Champion stays visible after enabling WASD: Check whether Dynamic Camera is enabled in the Camera menu; Riot says it is initially enabled with WASD input.
- You want to look away from your champion: Disable Dynamic Camera in the Camera menu, then use your normal camera controls to move the view.
- A familiar toggle key does nothing: Check the current camera binding in your client rather than assuming a key from an old guide still applies.
