To loop a Hindi video continuously, use FFmpeg’s -stream_loop -1 input option. For several videos, put their paths in an ordered concat-demuxer playlist and loop that input. Send the resulting feed to the current RTMPS server URL and stream key shown in YouTube Live Control Room. Hindi audio does not require a special looping mode; file compatibility, encoding settings, rights, and reliable process supervision matter more.
Choose a single video or a playlist
Repeat one file
For one prepared video, -stream_loop -1 tells FFmpeg to loop the input indefinitely. When sending a local file to a live destination, -re reads it at its native rate instead of pushing it as fast as possible. These are input options, so put them before the relevant -i. See the FFmpeg documentation and check the manual for your installed build.
Rotate multiple videos in order
Create a text file such as playlist.txt with one entry per video, in the order you want them played:
file 'part-01.mp4'
file 'part-02.mp4'
file 'part-03.mp4'
Save paths relative to the playlist or use absolute paths. The concat demuxer joins inputs as a sequence; -stream_loop -1 then repeats that sequence. Files with matching stream properties are the most dependable choice. Differences in dimensions, frame rates, codecs, or audio streams may require normalizing and transcoding. Hindi subtitles and metadata are separate from this media-joining process.

Prepare the YouTube feed
Get the ingest server URL and stream key from YouTube Live Control Room. YouTube recommends RTMPS. The key acts like a password: keep it out of public scripts, screenshots, and shared logs. The following command is a starting template for a playlist, not a universally tested configuration:
ffmpeg -re -stream_loop -1 -f concat -safe 0 -i playlist.txt
-c:v libx264 -preset veryfast -b:v 4500k -maxrate 4500k -bufsize 9000k
-pix_fmt yuv420p -g 60 -c:a aac -b:a 128k -ar 44100
-f flv "$YOUTUBE_RTMPS_URL/$STREAM_KEY"
Replace the destination placeholders with the current values from Live Control Room without exposing the key. The example’s bitrate and GOP are illustrative, not YouTube requirements for every resolution or frame rate. Select settings for the actual output and consult YouTube’s current live encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions. Its guidance lists H.264, H.265, and AV1 video; AAC or MP3 audio; CBR; frame rates up to 60 fps; and a recommended two-second keyframe interval, not exceeding four seconds. For H.264, YouTube lists 5 Mbps minimum and 10 Mbps recommended for 1080p at 30 fps, and 6 Mbps minimum and 17 Mbps recommended for 1080p at 60 fps. These are platform guidance values, not guarantees of stream quality or successful delivery.

Stream copy or transcode?
Stream copy with -c copy avoids decoding and re-encoding, reducing processing load, but is suitable only when the source streams and destination container are compatible. Joining files can still expose codec or timestamp problems. If inputs differ or need scaling, frame-rate conversion, or audio changes, transcode them to a common profile and test the result. The example above encodes video with H.264 and audio with AAC; its settings should be adjusted to fit the sources, output target, available compute, and upload capacity.
Test and operate the loop
- Inspect the files and build. Check the installed version with
ffmpeg -version; useffprobeto inspect each file’s codecs, dimensions, frame rate, and audio streams. FFmpeg options and build capabilities can vary by release. - Confirm upload capacity. Run a speed test and choose a bitrate that fits the available, stable upload bandwidth. Allow capacity beyond the video bitrate for network variation and other traffic.
- Run a representative preflight. Test the actual playlist, sound, motion, and destination path before relying on it. If you want to check the full setup without a public broadcast, use an unlisted test and monitor YouTube’s stream health indicators.
- Plan for unattended operation. Watch the FFmpeg process, local logs, network, and available disk space. The loop option repeats media; it does not supervise the process or reconnect after a disconnected stream. Arrange an alert and restart strategy appropriate to your setup.
Copyright, Hindi content, and long-stream archives
Hindi language does not change FFmpeg’s loop or transport workflow. You still need the rights to broadcast every video, soundtrack, and other material in the playlist. YouTube’s live streaming guidance is a useful starting point for platform setup; check the rights and permissions for your specific content rather than assuming that a language, devotional genre, or existing upload makes rebroadcasting permissible.

Do not assume a continuous broadcast will produce a complete YouTube archive. YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived; broadcasts longer than 12 hours may not be captured, and DVR rewind can be limited or unavailable on very long streams. If preserving a recording matters, record locally or plan deliberate shorter segments, and verify current channel and stream settings. See YouTube’s live stream archive guidance.
Common problems and fixes
- The stream ends instead of looping: Check that
-stream_loop -1appears before the intended input’s-i. For a playlist, confirm the concat input is the one being looped. - Playlist fails at a join: Inspect the files with
ffprobe. Mismatched streams or timestamps can make concatenation unreliable; prepare compatible inputs or transcode to a common profile, then test the full rotation. - YouTube reports poor stream health: Recheck resolution, frame rate, codec, bitrate, keyframe interval, and CBR settings against YouTube’s current encoder guidance. Confirm stable upload capacity and test with representative content.
- Video or audio is missing: Verify the source actually contains the expected stream, check the FFmpeg log, and ensure the chosen output options match the inputs. Mixed or unusual files may need explicit mapping or normalization.
- The broadcast stops after running unattended: Check whether FFmpeg exited, the connection failed, the host lost power, or disk space ran out. Add monitoring and a restart or alert mechanism; infinite input looping alone does not recover the process or a dropped YouTube connection.
- The stream is live but no complete archive appears: A broadcast exceeding 12 hours may not be captured by YouTube. Use local recording or plan shorter segments if a full replay is important.
