Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →To loop a pre-recorded video on YouTube Live, play it through an encoder such as OBS Studio and enable the source’s loop setting. For a seamless repeat, the video’s ending must already match its beginning: OBS repeats the file but does not blend or repair the transition.
Make the video seamless before you stream it
A loop setting restarts playback at the end of the file. It cannot hide a jump in the picture, a flash, a pause, a sudden change in sound, or an audio click. Check the precise end-to-start boundary in an editor or preview the file on repeat. If it does not flow naturally, edit the media—such as by adjusting the in and out points or adding an appropriate audio crossfade—before sending it to YouTube. OBS’s loop control restarts the source; it does not create a transition. OBS documents the source’s restart behavior.
Loop one video in OBS
- Add the source: In OBS, select the scene where the video should play, add a Media Source, and choose the local video file. OBS lists common supported formats including MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI, and WebM. The OBS Media Sources guide was published January 11, 2022.
- Enable repetition: Open the Media Source properties and check Loop. Preview playback through the end and back to the start; fix any visible or audible discontinuity in the file rather than expecting the checkbox to smooth it.
- Set up YouTube: In YouTube Studio, open Create → Go Live and create or select a stream. In the Live Control Room, copy the server URL and stream key into OBS’s streaming settings. Treat the key as a password: anyone who has it may be able to send an encoder feed to your stream. Follow YouTube’s encoder setup guide.
- Start and check the feed: Start streaming in OBS, then inspect the Live Control Room preview and stream health. Depending on the stream setup, you may need to verify the preview and click Go live in the Control Room before viewers can watch.
Loop a playlist instead of one file
For a sequence of recordings, add a VLC Video source in OBS, set up the playlist, and enable Loop Playlist. VLC must be installed for this OBS source; use 64-bit VLC with 64-bit OBS. Check the playlist order and each file’s opening and ending, since a seamless individual file does not guarantee a smooth transition to the next one. The OBS Media Sources guide explains that the VLC source restarts after its playlist runs out.
Choose stream settings that match your video and connection
Use an output resolution and frame rate that suit both the source file and the computer encoding it. YouTube’s recommended bitrate depends on resolution, frame rate, and codec, so use the matching row in its live encoder settings and bitrate recommendations rather than applying one bitrate to every stream.

#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- YouTube recommends RTMP or RTMPS ingest, constant bitrate (CBR), and a keyframe interval of two seconds; it says not to exceed four seconds. These are YouTube platform recommendations in its encoder-settings guidance.
- Make sure the internet connection can sustain the selected bitrate throughout the stream. YouTube’s streaming tips recommend keeping upload capacity 20% above the stream’s bitrate as headroom.
- Test with representative movement and audio. Confirm that the preview is stable, sound is present, the stream-health status is acceptable, and the repeated boundary remains clean.
Test privately and handle the broadcast deliberately
- Before a public broadcast, send a private or unlisted test and check picture, sound, stream health, and at least one end-to-start repeat.
- Monitor the Live Control Room’s preview, health indicators, and messages during the broadcast; a successful start does not guarantee a stable feed for its full duration.
- When finished, stop the broadcast in YouTube and stop the encoder feed. YouTube’s encoder guide says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; check YouTube’s current help guidance if the archive duration matters to your plan.
Copyright and YouTube live-stream rules
YouTube says, “All live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content in the form of another live broadcast.” A stream can be interrupted when a match is detected. Having a licence does not necessarily prevent that interruption: the rights owner may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. Read YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams and confirm the applicable permissions and allowlisting with the rights owner before broadcasting.
Rights to use a recording and permission to use its music or other included material are separate practical checks; make sure your intended live use is covered. Repeating a recording does not change its copyright status. YouTube’s live-streaming overview lists Gyre as a cloud-based option for 24/7 pre-recorded streams; that listing alone does not establish a service’s current price, terms, or performance.

Troubleshooting looped YouTube Live video
- The picture jumps or flashes at the repeat: The file’s last and first frames do not join cleanly. Adjust the edit or choose a better loop point, then preview the boundary again.
- The audio clicks, cuts out, or goes silent: Inspect the audio at both ends of the file. Edit the boundary or use a suitable crossfade, then listen to the repeat before streaming.
- The VLC Video source is missing: Install VLC and make sure its architecture matches OBS (64-bit VLC with 64-bit OBS).
- The preview does not appear in YouTube: Check that OBS is sending to the correct server URL and that the intended stream key is entered. Keep the key private, and review YouTube’s preview and stream-health messages.
- The stream buffers or loses health: Check the selected bitrate against YouTube’s recommendations and the connection’s sustained upload capacity. Leave the 20% headroom recommended by YouTube’s streaming tips, and test again.
- A copyright match interrupts the live feed: Check YouTube’s notice and contact the rights owner about permissions and Content ID allowlisting; a licence alone may not prevent a live interruption.
- The stream stops when the computer or connection stops: A local OBS stream relies on the computer, encoder, and internet connection continuing to send the feed. For unattended operation, consider cloud playout instead.
