Choose where the playlist will run
The repeat order belongs to the system playing out your videos, not the viewer’s YouTube playlist controls. YouTube’s encoder workflow takes an incoming video feed; it does not document a native YouTube Live setting for looping a playlist in a fixed order.

YouTube identifies Gyre as a cloud-based tool for 24/7 live streaming of prerecorded videos, but that listing does not establish its current fixed-order controls, plan limits, or commercial terms. Check the provider’s current documentation before choosing it.
Set up a fixed-order stream with a local playout system
The exact playlist controls differ by encoder or playout product. YouTube’s documentation describes how to send an encoder feed to Live Control Room, but does not specify playlist scheduling steps for third-party software. Use your selected product’s instructions for the playlist itself, and verify the repeat behavior before launch.

- Confirm your channel can go live. YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the past 90 days. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it before the planned start.
- Prepare the media sequence. In your playout software, add the prerecorded videos in the intended order and enable repeat or loop for the whole sequence, rather than relying on YouTube’s viewer-side Loop button. Check what the software does at the end of a file and at the end of the list.
- Create or schedule the live stream. In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create or schedule a stream. In the Stream tab, obtain the stream URL and stream key. Treat the key as a secret: anyone who has it may be able to send content to your stream.
- Connect the encoder. Enter the YouTube stream URL and key in the encoder’s stream settings, then configure the playout output and encoder settings for a format YouTube accepts. For current codec, transport, audio, and bitrate guidance, use YouTube’s live encoder settings rather than relying on a copied bitrate table that may become outdated.
- Preview before going public. Start sending the feed and wait for the preview in Live Control Room. Confirm the correct video and audio arrive, then start the broadcast in YouTube. Monitor audio and video after launch.
- Test the full cycle. Before leaving the stream unattended, check that the last item returns to the first in the intended order. Confirm that playback does not stop between files and that the encoder continues sending the feed.
Settings that matter
YouTube’s current encoder guidance lists H.264, H.265 (HEVC), and AV1 for RTMP/RTMPS video ingest; AAC or MP3 audio; constant bitrate encoding; a recommended keyframe interval of 2 seconds and a maximum of 4 seconds. It recommends RTMPS for encrypted transport. Recommended bitrate varies with codec, resolution, and frame rate, so consult the current settings page linked above for the combination you plan to use. These ingest settings do not create or control the playlist loop.
Check rights and archive expectations
Use media you are allowed to stream
Before scheduling prerecorded videos, confirm you have the rights and permissions needed to broadcast them on YouTube. A live format does not itself grant permission to use game footage, music, or other material, and a playlist loop is not a substitute for reviewing applicable platform policies. You can use the copyright safety checklist as a pre-stream review aid.

Do not assume one permanent archive
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. A stream intended to run continuously for 24/7 should not be described as producing one guaranteed uninterrupted archive; plan for the documented duration limit and check YouTube’s current policy for your setup.

No. It repeats playlist playback for that viewer; a live broadcast needs a continuous feed sent to YouTube.
Does YouTube document a built-in fixed-order loop for Live Control Room?
