If you mean changing your avatar’s outfit, you can browse and wear clothes in the Roblox mobile app. If you mean designing and uploading new clothing, Roblox’s published instructions describe a template-based creation and upload process, but do not document a complete phone-only workflow.
Change your avatar’s clothes in the Roblox mobile app
These steps are for wearing items you already own or have obtained through Roblox. Menu labels can vary: Roblox says the Avatar tab is being renamed Me in a regional rollout.

- Open your inventory. In the mobile app, tap More, then Inventory. On a phone, use the pull-down menu to choose a wardrobe category and subcategory. See Roblox’s mobile inventory instructions.
- Choose an item. Browse the options and tap an item to view its details.
- Wear or remove it. Select the item and set the Wear This slider to Yes to wear it or No to remove it. Roblox’s mobile avatar instructions also describe dressing an avatar on a tablet through More > Me.
You can also buy additional items through the Catalog in the mobile app, according to Roblox’s inventory help page.

Creating a new clothing asset is different from putting an existing item on your avatar. Roblox’s guidance describes digital creation using clothing templates and image uploads; for avatar items more broadly, it discusses making a mesh in a 3D art program such as Blender and bringing it into Roblox Studio. The cited support pages do not confirm that the complete design-and-upload process can be done entirely on a phone.

Classic clothing images
For classic clothing uploads, Roblox says the image must be a GIF, PNG, or JPG and must use the appropriate template and image size. Its troubleshooting guidance warns that editing or saving can shift an image by a pixel or two, which may cause a template error. Consult Roblox’s clothing-upload troubleshooting page for its template and upload guidance.
Community clothing uploads
Roblox documents a community Store flow for community clothing: open the Store, choose the option to create or manage community items, select T-shirt, Shirt, or Pants, choose an image file, enter a name, and upload. This establishes a browser-like community clothing route, not that the same controls are available entirely in the mobile app. The steps are described in Roblox’s community clothing help article.

Rules, eligibility, and fees
Roblox says creators must meet requirements to sell avatar items; these can include account verification or linking to a parent’s account, and some steps cost Robux. Its guidance also requires creators to follow Marketplace policy and Community Standards and to sell only work they made or are permitted to sell. Roblox’s upload troubleshooting page says a Marketplace fee is required to create shirts and pants or to sell T-shirts. Check the current requirements in Creating and Selling Avatar Items before starting.

Do not confuse Creator Store assets with avatar clothes
Roblox says assets in the Creator Store are for building experiences and cannot be worn on avatars. They are separate from wearable clothing. See Roblox’s Creator Store explanation.
