Where to find copper ore in Hytale
Caves are a useful place to look, but they are not the only option. Prima Games reports that copper ore is usually found in mountainous areas, attached to stone, and can sometimes appear outside caves. World generation makes a fixed location unreliable, so search both underground and among exposed rocky terrain.
Bring a pickaxe and inspect stone surfaces closely; copper ore can be difficult to distinguish from nearby blocks. Hytale.game’s Your First Days on Hytale guide also points players to caves for copper.
How to turn copper ore into ingots
- Equip a pickaxe and explore caves or rocky, mountainous areas.
- Mine copper ore attached to stone, including exposed stone outside caves.
- Take the ore to a furnace and smelt it into copper ingots.
A community recipe reference lists one copper ore for one ingot and a 10-second process, but those recipe details may change between game versions. Check the furnace recipe in your current build rather than relying on those values if they differ.

What copper ingots are used for
Copper supports early progression: Hytale.game describes it as a material for improved tools and weapons, as well as Tier 2 workbenches. Its crafting-priority list puts a shield and a one-handed weapon first, followed by tools and a bow and arrows. Choose what to make based on what you need for your next steps.
