You can customize clothes in inZOI without Blender by changing colors or patterns on existing garments in Create a Zoi. To make a new outfit mod, use the free official inZOI ModKit: beginners can start with its CAZ/Wizard tools and sample assets, while a fully custom garment requires a 3D mesh rigged to the inZOI template and imported as an FBX.
Choose the right way to customize clothes

The in-game editor changes an existing garment’s appearance; it does not turn that garment into a new 3D silhouette. For that, the official modding route is the ModKit. KRAFTON describes it as an official tool for making inZOI modding accessible (official inZOI Mod guide).
Change an existing garment in Create a Zoi
For a color or pattern change, open Create a Zoi and select the clothing item you want to edit. Use its texture and color controls to customize the existing garment. KRAFTON’s Help Center explains that clothing customization is done in Create a Zoi by adjusting textures and colors (Help Center: How to use the custom clothing feature, updated March 20, 2025).
For a pattern, the My Texture feature can generate one from an English-language AI prompt or load an image to use as a pattern (Help Center instructions). This is the simplest route when you want to personalize an available piece rather than create new geometry.

Make an outfit mod with the ModKit
1. Install the official toolkit and create a project
- Add the free inZOI ModKit to your Epic Games Store library, then launch it from the Epic Games Launcher (inZOI ModKit on the Epic Games Store).
- In the ModKit, right-click My Mod Projects and choose Create Empty Project. Enter a project name, save path, author, and description (official project-creation guide).
2. Start with the Wizard or prepare a custom mesh
For a simpler set outfit, use the CAZ/Wizard and the supplied outfit samples. KRAFTON says the Wizard is intended to help beginners create set-outfit custom content; the ModKit includes meshes and game data for set outfits, with additional assets added through updates (official inZOI Mod guide). Use the custom-mesh route if the outfit needs a silhouette that the available assets cannot provide.
3. Import a custom garment mesh (advanced)
Model and finalize the garment in a 3D content-creation tool, then export it as an FBX. The official outfit guide specifies a scale of 1 unit = 1 cm, animation disabled, the inZOI template bone structure retained, and two UV channels: UV Channel 1 for textures and UV Channel 2 for masking (official clothing-mod guide).

- In the ModKit, choose Import Skeletal Mesh.
- Select the inZOI template skeleton and leave animation unchecked.
- Import the FBX and check that the mesh uses the expected template bones and origin.
Preserving the template skeleton is essential to the supported import workflow. A garment that has not been rigged to the template is not ready for this step.
4. Add textures and materials
For an imported mesh, assign its materials and textures in the ModKit and keep the texture files organized with the project. Confirm that UV Channel 1 maps the texture as intended and that UV Channel 2 contains the masking area. KRAFTON recommends using textures of 2048 × 2048 pixels or smaller when possible (official ModKit guide).

5. Package and test the mod locally
Use the ModKit’s packaging options to create the mod package. For local installation, place it under DocumentsinZOIMods, then start the game and check that the mod appears. The ModKit guide covers local mod use and packaging (official ModKit guide).
6. Share the outfit
To distribute a completed outfit publicly, upload it to CurseForge, the official supported route connected to the in-game Mod Browser (official inZOI Mod guide; KRAFTON’s June 9, 2025 ModKit AMA). KRAFTON said mods shared on official inZOI-supported platforms must be free to all users; early-access paywalls for mods are not allowed. Its AMA says platform ads, donation requests, and monetized tutorial or showcase videos are permitted.

What to check if an outfit does not look right
- Wrong or distorted texture: Check that the intended texture is assigned and mapped through UV Channel 1.
- Masking problems: Check the UV Channel 2 masking area and confirm the material slots are set up correctly.
- Mesh does not import or fit as expected: Verify the FBX uses the inZOI template bone structure, the template skeleton was selected, animation was disabled, and the mesh origin and scale follow the outfit guide.
- Mod does not appear in game: Confirm the package was created with the ModKit and placed in
DocumentsinZOIMods. - Looking for cloth physics in the Wizard: Cloth physics is not supported in the Wizard. User-created Zois also cannot be exported as Blender assets (KRAFTON’s June 9, 2025 ModKit AMA).
Which route should you use?
- Choose Create a Zoi for the fastest change to the color or pattern of an existing piece.
- Choose the CAZ/Wizard for a beginner-friendly set-outfit mod built from the ModKit’s tools and sample assets.
- Choose a custom mesh when you need a new garment shape and are prepared to model, rig, map, import, and test it.
Mods can require maintenance when the game or ModKit changes. Check the current official guides if an update affects a project or its packaging workflow.
