It brought a winter version of Empire State called Ice Lock and a separate Bonus Path that players progressed by earning Winter Offensive Bonus Path Points from event-themed challenges. Rewards included free items and premium rewards requiring the Season 1 Battle Pass.
How the Winter Offensive Bonus Path worked
The Bonus Path was a time-limited, point-based reward track. Completing event-themed challenges awarded Winter Offensive Bonus Path Points, which advanced players through reward tiers. EA’s announcement listed point thresholds and rewards, including cosmetics, XP boosts and the Ice Climbing Axe. It also said premium-tier rewards required the Season 1 Battle Pass.
The official announcement excerpts do not establish a definitive total tier count: one surfaced table lists ten reward tiers, while another official description calls it an 11-tier path. The Ice Climbing Axe was identified as a free functional melee weapon, but its exact tier is not established in the available announcement details.
Event challenges and other challenges
Do not assume every weekly challenge awarded event points. EA’s January update said not all Weekly Challenges reward Bonus Path points and directed players to the in-game Challenges menu to check which ones did.

Tier skipping during the event
On December 11, 2025, the Battlefield Team said tier skipping had been temporarily disabled across all platforms while an issue was addressed, then restored after the issue was resolved. That was a launch-period update, not confirmation that the event or its tier skipping is currently available.
What Ice Lock was
Ice Lock was the winter variant of the Empire State map associated with Winter Offensive. EA also said Ice Lock Empire State was available in supported Portal experiences during the event window. The official details available here do not establish specific gameplay modifiers, modes beyond Portal availability, or whether Ice Lock has returned since the event.
