You can manage a 24/7 bhajan broadcast from your phone by running OBS on a separate computer connected to YouTube, then using an authenticated OBS WebSocket client on the phone to control it. OBS’s documented phone-and-tablet setup is for devices on the same local network. For a continuous service, also plan for music rights, monitoring, and recordings: YouTube warns that streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured as replays.
How the phone-and-OBS setup works
The remote computer is the encoder: OBS sends the video and audio to YouTube using the stream URL and stream key. Your phone is a control client, not the encoder. It can send commands to OBS—such as starting or stopping the stream or changing scenes—while OBS continues to run on the computer.
OBS documents phone or tablet control when the phone and OBS host are on the same local network. Its documentation does not establish a safe, supported connection method for controlling the host from a phone on a different network. Do not assume that exposing OBS WebSocket directly to the public internet is a safe way to achieve remote access.
Set up OBS and connect it to YouTube
- Check channel eligibility. YouTube’s live-stream eligibility guidance says the channel must be verified, have no live-stream restriction in the preceding 90 days, and the person streaming must be at least 16. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility requirements.
- Create or select the YouTube stream. In YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, set up the stream and retrieve its stream URL and stream key. Follow YouTube’s encoder streaming instructions for the current interface.
- Enter the stream details in OBS. On the OBS computer, open Settings > Stream, choose YouTube as the service, and provide the stream URL and key if prompted. Keep the key private: anyone who obtains it could potentially broadcast to your channel.
- Prepare the scene and audio. Add the bhajan video or other permitted sources to the OBS scene, check that audio is present and at a suitable level, and verify the preview before going live. OBS is responsible for encoding and sending the stream; the phone client controls OBS.
- Test before relying on the setup. Start a private or otherwise suitable test stream, confirm the picture and sound in YouTube Studio, and verify that the phone can perform the actions you need. A phone connection is useful for control, but it does not replace checking the encoder and YouTube stream health.
Enable secure phone control with OBS WebSocket
OBS WebSocket is included with OBS Studio 28 and later. The OBS Project lists compatible clients including Touch Portal and OBS Blade; client features and availability can vary. See the OBS Remote Control Guide.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
- Open OBS’s WebSocket settings. In OBS, go to Tools > WebSocket Server Settings. Enable the WebSocket server.
- Require authentication. Enable authentication and set a strong password. OBS recommends protecting WebSocket access with a password against unauthorized control. Do not share that password publicly or reuse the YouTube stream key as the WebSocket password.
- Connect the phone client on the same local network. Install a compatible client, enter the OBS host’s local address and WebSocket port as shown in OBS, and provide the authentication password. Keep the phone and OBS computer on the same trusted local network for the documented phone/tablet arrangement.
- Limit the controls to what you need. Test actions such as start/stop and scene changes, and confirm the client shows the expected OBS state. Keep the phone locked when unattended and remove access for devices or users that no longer need it.
If the phone is away from the local network, the reviewed OBS guidance does not specify a supported secure method for reaching the host. Avoid improvising by opening the WebSocket port to the internet; use a network-access design you understand and can secure, or operate the control phone locally.
Keep the stream observable and plan recordings
Monitor health, not just the phone controls
Check OBS and YouTube Studio during operation. OBS associates dropped frames and intermittent disconnections with an unstable connection to the ingest server or a bitrate the connection cannot sustain. YouTube recommends monitoring audio and video quality and checking that local archive files are growing. See the guidance on OBS dropped frames and disconnections and YouTube live-stream monitoring.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
- Watch OBS’s dropped-frame and connection indicators; if frames are dropping or the connection is unstable, investigate the host’s connection and whether the configured bitrate is sustainable.
- Check the stream in YouTube Studio for visible picture or sound problems rather than relying only on OBS’s local preview.
- If recording locally, confirm the file is being written and continues to grow. A local recording is a separate safeguard from YouTube’s replay archive.
Design around YouTube’s 12-hour archive and DVR limits
YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, but a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. DVR rewind may also be limited or unavailable on streams longer than 12 hours. YouTube recommends keeping a local recording backup. For archive reliability, consider dividing a continuous service into sessions shorter than 12 hours and keeping local recordings; neither an uninterrupted 24-hour session nor its replay is guaranteed to produce a complete YouTube archive. See YouTube’s live-stream archive guidance and DVR controls for live streams.
Clear music rights before broadcasting bhajans
Confirm that you have the necessary rights for the actual composition, arrangement, performance, and sound recording you use. A devotional or traditional song is not automatically free to stream: a particular recording or arrangement may have separate rights. YouTube’s livestream terms place responsibility for necessary rights, including music licensing rights, on the provider. YouTube also scans live streams for third-party content matches, which can interrupt or terminate a broadcast; even licensed content may be interrupted if the rights holder has not allowlisted the channel through Content ID. Review YouTube’s livestream terms and its copyright guidance before using music.

Troubleshoot common failures
The phone cannot connect to OBS
- Check the network: For the documented setup, put the phone and OBS host on the same local network.
- Check OBS: Confirm the WebSocket server is enabled and use the host address and port shown in OBS.
- Check authentication: Re-enter the WebSocket password and confirm it has not been changed.
- Do not expose the service casually: If the phone is on a different network, OBS’s cited guide does not establish a safe supported connection method. Do not treat port forwarding as a default fix.
YouTube does not receive the stream or it disconnects
- Confirm the stream URL and key in OBS match the stream configured in YouTube Studio; treat the key as a secret and replace it if it has been exposed.
- Check OBS’s connection and dropped-frame indicators. An unstable route to the ingest server or a bitrate the connection cannot sustain can cause drops or disconnections.
- Check YouTube Studio’s stream health and verify audio and video from the viewer-facing feed.
The replay is missing or incomplete
Check the stream duration first. YouTube warns that streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all, and DVR rewind may be restricted on longer streams. For future broadcasts where replay matters, schedule sessions shorter than 12 hours and record locally as a backup.
The stream is interrupted after music is detected
Review the rights for every recording and performance in the broadcast, then check YouTube’s notices in Live Control Room. If a rights holder has licensed content but has not allowlisted the channel through Content ID, YouTube says a live stream can still be interrupted.
