Check for an update on PS5 or PS4
- Highlight Rainbow Six Siege on the console home screen or in the game library.
- Press the controller’s Options button.
- Select Check for Update and follow any on-screen instructions if an update is available.
PlayStation Support also says that starting a game or app automatically checks for the newest version available. The manual check is useful when you want to look before launching the game (PlayStation Support).
Check downloads and update preferences on Steam
- Open Steam’s Download Manager to inspect and manage downloads and updates.
- For the game’s update preferences, go to Library > game’s library page > Manage > Properties > Updates.
These are Steam’s general download and per-game update controls, not a Siege-specific menu documented by Ubisoft. If Siege has not started downloading, check whether another download is queued or scheduled before treating it as a game installation problem (Steam Support).

What to do on other platforms
Xbox
Ubisoft lists Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S among Siege platforms, but the official material here does not establish the current exact manual update path. Check the console’s current interface or official Xbox help rather than relying on PlayStation or Steam directions.
Ubisoft Connect PC
Updating Ubisoft Connect PC itself is different from updating Siege through the launcher. If Connect reports that its service is unavailable, Ubisoft’s documented remedy is to close Ubisoft Connect PC, download the newest client, and try again. That addresses the launcher, not a game update (Ubisoft Help).

Epic Games Launcher and Amazon Luna
Ubisoft’s Siege support index includes file-verification guidance for Epic Games Launcher, Steam, and Ubisoft Connect PC, but file verification is a troubleshooting step for damaged or missing game files—not a manual update procedure. For Luna, the available Ubisoft platform announcement does not describe a player-triggered update flow. Use the current launcher or service interface for either platform (Ubisoft Siege Support).

If an update is missing or will not download
- Confirm which platform or storefront manages the installation, then inspect its download and update interface.
- On Steam, check for another queued or scheduled download in Download Manager.
- If Windows game files appear damaged or incomplete, use the platform’s file-verification troubleshooting guidance. Verification can repair file issues, but it does not replace checking for an update.
- If server access is failing as well, check Ubisoft’s live Siege service-status page. On October 5, 2026, the page listed PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One as “No Issues”; that was a momentary status snapshot, not a guarantee about a particular local download (Ubisoft Siege Service Status).
