Use two different YouTube Studio reports, depending on what you want to measure: the channel-level Subscribers report shows gains attributed to live streams across a chosen period, while an individual stream’s post-stream analytics shows New Subscribers—the users who subscribed during that stream. The second figure is a gross gain, not necessarily net channel growth, and YouTube documents it as a post-stream measure.
Choose the measure that matches your question
“How many subscribers did my 24/7 stream bring in?” and “How much did my channel grow while it was running?” are different questions. YouTube’s reports answer them at different scopes.

YouTube does not promise that the channel-level Live category isolates one individual stream. For a single broadcast, use its post-stream snapshot when available. YouTube describes New Subscribers as a post-stream metric, so its documented workflow does not provide a final individual-stream figure while a 24/7 broadcast is still running. Find subscriber gains in YouTube Studio
For live streams across a date range
- Open YouTube Studio and go to Analytics.
- Open the Content view and find the Subscribers report.
- Set the date range you want to evaluate. Read the Live category as subscribers gained from live-stream content during that period.
- Record the date range and the report label along with the number, so the result can be interpreted later.
The Studio interface may vary: YouTube says the updated experience began rolling out gradually in July 2026. If a label or menu is in a different place, use the Analytics report’s content-type and date-range controls rather than assuming every account has an identical layout. YouTube’s Analytics overview describes channel- and video-level reports, Advanced Mode, comparisons, and exports.

For one ended stream
- In YouTube Studio, open the ended live stream’s analytics.
- Locate the post-stream metrics and record the value labeled New Subscribers.
- Describe it as users who subscribed during that stream, and note that it is a stream-level gross gain—not a net channel change.
For a broadcast that is still live, use the channel-level Live content-type report for a selected period if it answers your question, but do not present it as the final individual-stream snapshot.
Separate stream gains from net channel growth
New Subscribers counts users who subscribed during the stream. YouTube’s cited definition does not say whether unsubscribes during that period are netted against that number. Do not label it “net growth.”

If you also want net channel change, compare the channel’s subscriber counts at the beginning and end of a clearly stated time window, using the same basis for both. Report that separately from the stream’s New Subscribers figure. The channel-level change can coincide with activity from other videos, Shorts, posts, or other sources; the reported figures do not establish that the 24/7 stream alone caused the change.
Add context before judging performance
Subscriber gains are easier to interpret alongside measures of exposure and viewer behavior. Depending on the report and availability, review:

- Views and impressions: how much viewing or potential exposure the stream received.
- Click-through rate: how often impressions led to views.
- Average view duration and watch time: how long people watched.
- Concurrent viewers: simultaneous viewers; live reporting can include average and peak concurrent viewers.
- Traffic sources: how people found the stream, such as browse, search, suggested videos, direct/unknown, or channel pages.
These metrics help describe reach and viewing patterns; they do not prove that a stream caused subscriber changes. YouTube’s Live content analytics guidance covers relevant performance measures, and its audience analytics help explains audience reporting.
Make comparisons reproducible
- Compare live streams with live streams, not directly with Shorts or standard videos; audience behavior differs by format.
- Use consistent date windows and clarify whether the period covers a whole stream or only part of one.
- Keep scope visible: channel-level Live category, one ended stream’s snapshot, or overall channel change.
- Where Studio offers the choice, keep live-only and live-and-on-demand filtering consistent across comparisons.
- Use Advanced Mode for expanded reports, comparisons, and exports, and save the filters and date range with the reported result.
For reporting, a concise record might read: “Channel-level Live subscribers gained, [date range], YouTube Studio Content > Subscribers” or “New Subscribers, [stream title], post-stream snapshot.” Include the exact metric label shown in Studio and do not imply causal attribution.
