Then use the test-chamber terminal to purge oxygen and start the experiment before returning to Brun to challenge her conclusions.
Reach the experiment floor in Endpoint’s End
Brun’s experiment is part of Marisol’s companion quest, not a separate device puzzle. First complete The Midpoint to the Endpoint, then speak with Marisol aboard the Incognito to begin Endpoint’s End. The quest sends you to the Monastery Anchorhold in Golden Ridge before directing you to Point Obviation on Eden.
At Point Obviation, follow the conversations with Anchoress Brun and Anais Bujold. Bujold explains the plan and gives you the Maintenance Hatch Access Key, which opens the route to the experiment level. The Neoseeker walkthrough’s access instructions include bringing Marisol and taking the lift. Neoseeker’s Endpoint’s End walkthrough provides the quest sequence; Digital Phablet’s guide also describes the experiment task.
Alter the four experiment rooms without making the sabotage obvious
The objective is to cause the experiment to fail while leaving Brun with a plausible explanation. Do not assume every available switch or sample needs to be changed: the Neoseeker walkthrough reports that two rooms using their strongest subtle options may be enough, but it does not establish a universal threshold for every skill, background, or character build. Available interactions can vary with your character’s skills and background.

A guard patrols the experiment floor; the walkthrough warns that being caught can fail the quest. The rooms are arranged around the level as follows:
- Zyranium — northeast: Pull the lever on the north wall for the strongest subtle option described by Neoseeker. Digital Phablet describes a gas-flow setup and notes that leaving it unchanged may be appropriate if other alterations provide enough deviation.
- Macrowaves — southeast: Make a slight adjustment through the machine if the option is available. Neoseeker reports Science 9 or the Professor background for this choice. A nearby unusual rock is described as a weaker option; removing the mixture altogether is the poor choice because it is conspicuous.
- Alta Vitae / Nucleins — southwest: Use the centrifuge to combine the preconfigured and unconfigured samples, then send the resulting sample through the pneumatic tube. Neoseeker reports that sufficient Science yields a “Weirdly Reconfigured” mixture; without it, the result is “Inexpertly Configured.”
- N-Rays — northwest: Use the vent above the room to operate a power lever, then activate the switch near the purple energy pillars.
These are walkthrough-reported options, not independently tested results. If a named interaction or check does not appear, use the available subtle choices in other rooms rather than forcing an obvious alteration.

Start the test and confront Brun
- Return to the area near Bujold and use the terminal beside her.
- Select Test Chamber Controls, then choose Purge Oxygen and Initiate Experiment.
- Follow up with Bujold, then speak with Brun. Challenge the experiment’s assumptions and conclusions in the dialogue.
Neoseeker reports Science and Speech dialogue checks, including checks at level 14, and says Marisol may contribute to persuasion. The exact dialogue sequence has not been established across all builds and character setups, so follow the requirements displayed in your game. Brun’s survival or death changes the companion perk Marisol receives; save before committing to the final conversation if you want the option to pursue another branch.

Skill checks and background can affect which experiment interactions appear and what result they produce. The reported Science 9 requirement for the Macrowaves adjustment and the Science-dependent Alta Vitae sample result come from walkthroughs, so treat them as guide-reported requirements rather than guarantees for every build. The dialogue guide also reports Science and Speech checks at 14; rely on the in-game prompts if your options differ.

The procedure above is based on secondary walkthroughs. Obsidian’s official news and patch announcements establish that the game receives patches, but do not verify these quest mechanics. If a patch changes an interaction or dialogue check, the live game’s available choices take precedence.
