In Dishonored 2’s final mission, “Death to the Empress,” the nonlethal way to neutralize Delilah is to prepare a Corrupt Rune in the Overseer Chapel, use it on the throne, then find the real Delilah inside the painting, knock her unconscious, and carry her back to the throne.
How to neutralize Delilah without killing her
- Create the Corrupt Rune. In Dunwall Tower, go to the Overseer Chapel and use the altar to create the Corrupt Rune. The walkthroughs confirm the location and item but do not establish a consistent ingredient list, so follow the recipe shown in your game.
- Use the rune on the throne. Before entering the painting, apply the Corrupt Rune to the throne. This is the setup for the nonlethal resolution.
- Find the real Delilah. Enter the painting and look for Delilah on the raised platform above the entrance. The figures below can distract from the real target.
- Incapacitate her without letting her fall. Approach carefully and perform a nonlethal takedown. A fatal fall will prevent the intended nonlethal outcome.
- Return her to the throne. Carry Delilah’s unconscious body back through the painting and place her on the throne to complete the resolution.
Which Dishonored game is this?
These steps apply to Dishonored 2, mission “Death to the Empress.” Delilah appears in more than one game, but the encounters are not interchangeable: Dishonored: Death of the Outsider has a separate Delilah-related objective and a different painting solution. If you are in the original Dishonored’s “Lady Boyle’s Last Party,” that mission is about Lady Boyle, not this Delilah finale.
