To open the locked BSAA containers in Resident Evil Requiem, progress through Leon’s East Raccoon City section until you collect two batteries and open the flooded Underground Parking Garage gate. Follow the story to the cutscene outside Cedarbrook Apartments; the BSAA Container Keys are given to you automatically. Then use them at the three locked containers. Don’t search for the keys before that cutscene or backtrack to locked containers without them.
How to get the BSAA Container Keys
- Reach the Underground Parking Garage. This takes place during Leon’s East Raccoon City section.
- Find both batteries. PowerPyx places one in the garage and the other in the Sewage Facility (PowerPyx’s container guide).
- Open the flooded garage gate. Insert both batteries into the gate-control panel.
- Continue along the story route toward Cedarbrook Apartments. The route descriptions differ slightly: PowerPyx says to turn left on the street, while GamesRadar+ describes heading east from the gas station after powering the gate (GamesRadar+’s crate locations guide).
- Trigger the cutscene outside Cedarbrook Apartments. The keys are awarded automatically. They are not a separate item to pick up from the ground.
Where to find the three locked containers
Use landmarks rather than container numbers: the guides number and describe them differently. There are three locked containers. Some guides count four containers total because they also include an already-open container outside Cedarbrook Apartments. That open container is not one of the three that requires the keys.

Cedarbrook Apartments: eastern end of the main road
Look near the apartments at the eastern end of the road. Climb behind or over the truck to reach the locked container. GamesRadar+ also describes a different, already-open container outside the apartments, containing a container list; don’t confuse it with the locked one.
Central Camp: beside the tent or supply area
Return to Central Camp and look beside the tent, supply box, or save point. This container holds the Repair Kit. PowerPyx identifies it as necessary to repair the Broken Signal Receiver; GameSpot describes it as part of detonator-related progression (GameSpot’s BSAA container guide).

Applegate Hotel: take the underground return route
The remaining locked container is outside the Applegate Hotel, near the starting part of East Raccoon City. To return, get fuel, power the generator by the construction-site gate, descend the ladder, travel through the underground passage, and come back via the subway/Ridgewood Station side.
Use the map to confirm nearby containers
PowerPyx and GamesRadar+ report that containers are marked on the map after you approach them. Treat those icons as confirmation once you are in the area, not as a way to locate every container from a distance.

Rewards and guide numbering
GameSpot lists ammunition, a Marksman 1A sniper rifle, a Tracking Module, and a BSAA Emblem Charm across its four numbered containers. The guides’ numbering and item assignments do not line up consistently, so use the location landmarks above rather than assuming a particular number identifies the same reward in every guide. The Repair Kit at Central Camp is the reward with a clearly described progression use.

PowerPyx warns that Resident Evil Requiem has no chapter select and recommends keeping a manual save for each area if you want the option to return. The guide says opening all three locked containers unlocks the “Crate Expectations” trophy and achievement; GamesRadar+ also reports an achievement or challenge for opening all containers. The exact achievement display may depend on platform, so check the in-game tracker for your version.
