In Minecraft: Java Edition 1.20.2 and later, hold F3 and press 1 to toggle on the profiler pie chart. The chart is a Java Edition debug feature; the same shortcut and display are not established for Bedrock Edition.
Open the pie chart in Java Edition
- Enter a Java Edition world.
- Hold F3 and press 1. Mojang’s Java Edition 1.20.2 release notes describe F3+1 as the pie-chart toggle. If the debug overlay is not visible, press F3 first, then use F3+1, as listed in Minecraft Help’s Java Edition hotkey reference.
- To change how much detail is shown, use number keys 1–9 for a more detailed chart or 0 for a less detailed chart, according to the official hotkey reference.
- To close the chart, use F3+1 again. It is a toggle, not a menu item.
Why Shift+F3 may not work
Shift+F3 was the older shortcut. Mojang changed the Java debug-chart controls in version 1.20.2: F3+1 toggles the pie chart, F3+2 toggles FPS/TPS charts, and F3+3 shows ping and received-network-traffic charts. That version change explains why older guides may give a different key combination.

Edition and keyboard notes
The pie chart is a Java Edition debug feature, as described in the community Minecraft Wiki debug-screen reference; do not assume it is available in Bedrock Edition. On some laptops, F3 may share a key with a hardware function. The required Fn-key behavior depends on the keyboard, so check its function-key settings rather than relying on one universal Fn combination.
Version context
Minecraft Help lists F3 as the debug-menu key and F3+1 as the profiler-graph shortcut. Debug interface details can evolve: for example, Mojang’s Java Edition 1.21.9 Pre-Release 4 notes describe changes to debug options and the overlay, but do not report a change to the pie-chart shortcut. For the versions covered here, F3+1 is the supported instruction.
