Yes, you can play CarX Street on PC and Mac without an Android emulator. Windows players should use the official Steam PC version. Apple Silicon Mac owners—including M1, M2, M3 and later models—can use the official Steam macOS version. Intel Mac support is not established: Steam lists an Apple processor and Apple Silicon-only compatibility.
The Windows version launched on August 29, 2024, while CarX Technologies announced macOS support on September 9, 2025. Download the desktop game from its official Steam listing, not from an APK site, cracked installer or unofficial repack.

Older pages may say that a Mac version was still being investigated. That information predates CarX Technologies’ September 2025 macOS announcement and is outdated.
How to play CarX Street on Windows PC
- Install the Steam client and sign in or create an account.
- Search Steam for CarX Street.
- Confirm that CarX Technologies, LLC is shown as the developer and publisher.
- Purchase or claim the game if a current promotion makes it available, then select Install.
- Choose an SSD with at least 20 GB of free space. Leaving additional room for updates and system overhead is sensible.
- Wait for Steam to download and validate the files, then select Play from your Library.
The Steam listing requires broadband internet. Do not assume that all features will work fully offline.
Set up graphics and controls
Start with the game’s default graphics preset and adjust from there. If performance is poor, lower resolution, shadows, reflections, anti-aliasing and effects first. Close unnecessary background applications, use the laptop’s high-performance power mode and make sure the game is using the dedicated GPU where applicable.

Keyboard steering and throttle/brake controls are available, but a controller may feel more natural for driving. You can configure a controller through Steam Input or the game’s own controls menu and rebind any uncomfortable inputs.
How to play CarX Street on a Mac
1. Check whether your Mac has Apple Silicon
- Open the Apple menu.
- Select About This Mac.
- Look for an Apple M-series or another Apple Silicon processor.
If the Mac lists an Intel processor, do not treat the game as officially supported. The Steam requirements reviewed for this guide specify Apple Silicon only.

2. Install the native macOS version
- Install Steam for macOS.
- Sign in and search for CarX Street.
- Check that Steam offers the macOS build for your computer.
- Install the game to a drive with at least 20 GB free.
- Launch it from your Steam Library.
You do not need an Android emulator on a compatible Apple Silicon Mac. The Steam build is the native desktop route.
Important note about the Mac requirements
Steam’s Mac panel displays a “macOS Sierra” label alongside an Apple processor requirement. Those details appear inconsistent because Apple Silicon Macs arrived after macOS Sierra. Do not interpret the operating-system label as confirmation that an old Intel Mac is supported. Check the live Steam compatibility information on the specific Mac before buying, and treat Apple Silicon as the meaningful hardware requirement.

These are the requirements currently displayed on the Steam listing. They are store requirements, not a guarantee of a particular frame rate or graphics preset.

Because the Mac listing’s operating-system label does not align cleanly with its Apple Silicon requirement, verify the live Steam compatibility panel rather than relying on a copied requirements table.
Can you play CarX Street on an Intel Mac?
The safest answer is not as an officially guaranteed configuration. The published Steam requirements specify Apple Silicon only. Steam running successfully on an Intel Mac does not mean that CarX Street will run on it.

Do not present an Android emulator as an official Intel Mac solution. Emulation may introduce separate compatibility, performance, input, account and support problems, and it does not reproduce the native Steam version. Check the current Steam listing before purchasing if you own an Intel Mac.

No for supported systems:
- Supported Windows PC: use the native Steam version.
- Apple Silicon Mac: use the native macOS Steam version.
- Unsupported or older computer: an emulator is only a possible fallback, not a guaranteed way to run the desktop game.
The mobile App Store product is a separate edition. Installing the mobile game through an emulator should not be described as the same experience as installing the official PC/macOS build, and cross-save or shared progression should not be assumed.
Controller and steering-wheel support
CarX Technologies’ PC FAQ confirms controller support. You can connect a compatible controller, configure it through Steam Input or the game’s controls menu, and remap buttons if the default layout is uncomfortable.
Official material also indicated that steering-wheel support was intended for the PC version. That does not establish universal compatibility with every wheel, pedal set or configuration. Check the device and current support information before buying a wheel specifically for this game.
Troubleshooting
Steam will not install the game
- Confirm that the selected drive has at least 20 GB free, preferably more for updates.
- Use an SSD, which the Windows listing requires.
- Restart Steam and retry the download.
- Check that Steam has completed file validation before launching.
- Confirm that the Steam page offers the correct Windows or macOS build for your computer.
The Windows version will not launch
- Restart Steam and Windows.
- Compare your operating system, processor, RAM and GPU with the listed minimums.
- Use Steam’s game-file verification option.
- Update the graphics driver.
- Check whether antivirus or security software has blocked the game or its anti-cheat component.
- Confirm that the game is installed on an SSD.
Do not disable anti-cheat as a general troubleshooting step. The Steam listing says the game uses Easy Anti-Cheat and notes that the component may require manual removal after uninstalling.

Mac shows “Invalid game executable path!”
CarX Technologies published a Mac-specific workaround:
- Open Steam and locate CarX Street in your Library.
- Open the game’s local files or installation folder.
- Find the file named
eac_launcher. - Right-click it and select Get Info.
- Enable Open using Rosetta.
- Close the information window and launch the game again.
This applies the Rosetta setting to the anti-cheat launcher. It is not an instruction to run the entire game under Rosetta or to disable Easy Anti-Cheat.
The game runs poorly
Meeting minimum requirements means the game may be able to launch; it does not promise smooth performance at high settings. Lower resolution, shadows, reflections and effects, close background programs, check laptop thermals and power mode, and confirm that Windows is using the dedicated GPU. There is no reliable universal FPS figure for every supported system.
The controller is not detected
Reconnect the controller, restart Steam, check Steam Input settings and inspect the game’s own control menu. If the device is a wheel or specialist controller, compatibility may depend on its model and configuration.

The game cannot connect
Broadband internet is a listed requirement. Connection failures can involve Steam, CarX servers, firewall rules, network instability, account sign-in or platform maintenance. Check current Steam and CarX announcements before repeatedly reinstalling the game.

Uninstalling the game
The Steam listing notes that CarX Street uses kernel-level anti-cheat and that Easy Anti-Cheat may require manual removal after the game is uninstalled. Follow the official or Steam-provided removal process; do not delete arbitrary system files.

The Steam listing is the dedicated desktop product for Windows and macOS. The App Store listing is the mobile product. They should not be treated as interchangeable simply because they share the CarX Street name.
The Steam page lists single-player, online PvP and cross-platform multiplayer. That does not by itself promise shared progression, cross-save or identical features between Steam and mobile. Verify any account-linking or progression behavior through current official documentation.

For supported hardware, the native Steam version is the cleanest option: it avoids emulator setup, receives updates through the official storefront and supports desktop controls. Windows offers the broader range of compatible hardware, while Apple Silicon Macs now have an official macOS build.
