That is a modded option, not Nightreign’s official co-op format: Bandai Namco describes the game as a three-player co-op experience. To use the mod, every player needs the PC game, the same mod and game versions, Steam online, and the mod launcher.
Can you play Nightreign with more than three players?
Yes, on PC, with the Seamless Co-op (Nightreign) mod. Its listing says it supports one-to-six-player lobbies, offers customizable enemy scaling, and makes the party visible in Roundtable Hold. The mod author’s changelog says, “The mod should now work with 1 – 6 players*”; the listing also documents later changes to scaling and fixes affecting drops and enemy scaling for players in slots four through six. Six players is the stated capacity, not a guarantee that every run will be balanced or free of bugs.

This differs from the official game. Bandai Namco describes Nightreign as featuring three-player co-op. The six-player option is a community mod, not an official mode or console feature.

Bandai Namco’s May 22, 2025 launch guide says crossplay is available within PlayStation generations and within Xbox generations, but not across platform families. That console crossplay information does not make the PC mod available on consoles.

How to install the Nightreign Seamless Co-op mod
The mod listing says no other mods are required. Its instructions are for the PC game and use the Steam game folder; the game’s published minimum PC specifications are not a separate mod requirement.
- Get the mod: Download the archive from the Nexus Mods listing.
- Extract the files: Put the extracted mod files in the Nightreign game folder. The listing gives the usual Steam
Gamedirectory as an example. - Launch the mod: Start
nrsc_launcher.exefrom the game folder. - Get the whole party ready: Each player must be signed into Steam and online, and all players must use the same game version and mod version.
- Invite friends: Create a party in the mod and invite the other players through Steam, following the listing’s instructions.
Use the normal game launch when you want vanilla online play. The mod author says the mod’s sessions do not connect to FromSoftware matchmaking servers, and the listing says random matchmaking is unsupported.
What to know before starting a six-player run
Enemy scaling and balance
Enemy scaling can be customized, but six-player balance should not be assumed. The project’s changelog records scaling adjustments and fixes involving players in slots four through six. Choose settings with your group in mind, and treat the six-player cap as a supported lobby size rather than a promise of a perfectly tuned experience.
Other mods
The mod author says compatibility with other mods has not been tested. The listing cautions against using mods that interfere with multiplayer or alter items the mod needs. Avoid combining mods unless you are prepared for incompatibilities.

Everdark bosses and Endless Night
The listing describes a temporary, service-dependent solution for Everdark bosses and Endless Night that requires GitHub connectivity. The author warns it may fail where GitHub is blocked, so access to those modes is not assured in every network environment.
Save files and ban-safety claims
The author says the mod uses save files separate from the unmodded game and states: “There’s no way to get banned using this mod unless you modify it with the intent of connecting to vanilla players.” That is the author’s claim, not an independently verified guarantee. Keep the modded and standard game sessions distinct, and do not treat that statement as a promise against every possible account or technical issue.

The mod listing has a versioned changelog, but compatibility with every current game build is not independently confirmed by Bandai Namco’s official information. Check the live listing for its current files and compatibility notes, and have the group coordinate on matching versions before launching.
Bandai Namco Europe’s May 22, 2025 launch guide lists Windows 10, Intel Core i5-10600 or AMD Ryzen 5 5500, 12 GB RAM, and GTX 1060 3 GB or Radeon RX 580 4 GB as the game’s minimum PC specifications. Those are the publisher’s game minimums, not separately tested requirements for this mod.
