What you need to play GT7 in VR
- A PlayStation 5 console.
- The PS5 version of Gran Turismo 7.
- A PlayStation VR2 headset connected to the console.
The Gran Turismo 7 Online Manual says PS VR2 is not compatible with PlayStation 4. It also states that GT7 does not support the PS VR2 Sense controller, so do not expect to drive with those controllers.
How to start playing
- Install and launch the PS5 version of Gran Turismo 7.
- Connect PlayStation VR2 to your PS5 and put on the headset.
- Start a supported race or game mode. The VR view uses Cockpit View or Bonnet View, depending on the car; some cars do not offer an interior-view option.
Which parts of GT7 work in VR?
The manual describes VR support for online and offline races and game modes, except 2P Split Screen. It also includes two VR-specific ways to experience the game:
- VR Showroom: Inspect cars from the Garage or in-game dealerships. Polyphony Digital’s 2023 announcement says the showroom offers 12 selectable backgrounds.
- VR Replay: Watch a race again in VR. After a race, open Quick Menu → Replay and choose VR Replay; the manual also says VR replays can be selected from Showcase.
Adjust the VR view and headset feedback
For cockpit display and camera options, open Quick Menu or Pause Menu → Settings. The manual describes using the left and right sticks to move or rotate the camera and L1/R1 to change the viewpoint.

To change headset vibration, use Quick Menu → Settings → Controller Settings or GT Menu → Options → Controllers → Vibration function. The available settings are Off, On (Collisions Only), and On for Collisions and Impacts.
