Does REANIMAL have a Friend’s Pass?
Yes. Friend’s Pass is intended to let an invited player join someone who owns the full game without buying another full copy, where the Pass is available for that player’s platform. Store availability and terms are platform-specific, so check the relevant listing before downloading.
The PlayStation Store describes Friend’s Pass as a trial, while Xbox has a separate free Friend’s Pass listing. The invited player should install the Pass edition rather than assume a full-game purchase or another trial listing is equivalent.

How do I play REANIMAL with a friend online?
- The owner launches the full game. In the Steam Community guide’s described flow, choose Co-op > Online > Host.
- The friend downloads and launches Friend’s Pass on a platform where it is available.
- The Pass player chooses Co-op and follows the in-game invitation or lobby prompt to join. The guide’s retrieved instructions do not establish one final menu sequence that applies to every platform.
- For the dependable Friend’s Pass setup described by the guide, have both players use the same platform. Cross-platform co-op is advertised for the game, but Pass crossplay is not officially assured.
Can I play REANIMAL locally on one console?
Yes. REANIMAL supports local co-op. The PlayStation Store says one full-game owner can share couch co-op with a Friend’s Pass player. Local setup and controller requirements can vary by platform.
On Nintendo Switch 2, THQ Nordic announced in its Patch 1.7 notice that local couch co-op supports one Joy-Con per player. The official game site describes the game’s camera as shared and directed, rather than promising split-screen.

Can I play REANIMAL crossplay?
The game advertises cross-platform co-op: Microsoft’s Xbox listing identifies cross-platform co-op, and Steam lists cross-platform multiplayer. However, the reviewed Steam Community Friend’s Pass guide says supported Pass play should use the same platform and does not officially support Pass crossplay. Treat cross-platform Friend’s Pass pairing as uncertain, not guaranteed.
If playing with Friend’s Pass is essential, confirm the Pass is available on the friend’s platform and choose the same platform for both players when possible. The dossier does not establish a universal crossplay setup or account-linking procedure.

Do both players need to own REANIMAL?
No, not for the Friend’s Pass arrangement: one player owns the full game and hosts, and the invited player joins using the Pass where available. The PlayStation Store and the reviewed Steam Community guide describe this one-owner arrangement. If the invited player’s platform does not offer the Pass, check that platform’s options before making plans.

Console online requirements differ by storefront. Microsoft says Xbox console online multiplayer requires Game Pass Essential, Premium, or Ultimate. The PlayStation Store lists PS Plus for online play. These requirements should not be assumed to apply to PC or Nintendo Switch 2.
