You can play Roblox on a compatible Samsung Galaxy phone or tablet if it meets Roblox’s Android requirements: Android 8.0 or later and OpenGL ES 3.0 support. Direct Roblox support for Samsung Smart TVs is not established by the official sources reviewed here: Samsung TVs use Tizen apps, while Roblox’s 2026 TV rollout is for select Android TVs. Check the app store on your own TV model before assuming it can run Roblox.
How to play Roblox on a Samsung phone or tablet
Roblox lists Android 8.0 or later and OpenGL ES 3.0 support as its baseline for Android phones and tablets. Meeting those requirements does not guarantee optimal performance, because Android hardware varies by model. See Roblox’s mobile system requirements.
- Check your Android version. On a Galaxy device, open Settings, then About phone, then Software information, and look for Android version. Menu labels can vary by model and software version.
- Confirm compatibility. The published baseline is Android 8.0 or later and OpenGL ES 3.0 support. A compatible Android version alone is not enough to confirm that a specific device will run Roblox well.
- Install Roblox from an official store. Use Google Play or Samsung Galaxy Store if Roblox is available for your device and region. Samsung’s Galaxy Store listing identifies the app as free and published by Roblox Corporation; local availability may vary.
- Sign in and choose an experience. Open Roblox, tap Login, enter your account credentials, and select an experience.
If Roblox is missing or says the device is incompatible
First update Android and Roblox if updates are available. Roblox’s Android troubleshooting guidance also recommends closing and reopening or force-stopping the app, restarting the device, reinstalling Roblox, or clearing app data. These steps can address app problems, but they cannot make unsupported hardware compatible.
Can you play Roblox on a Samsung TV?
Whether Roblox can be installed directly depends on the app catalog for the specific TV model and region. Samsung says that apps must be available in the TV’s Apps store to be installed. Do not treat Android TV instructions as proof that a Samsung Smart TV supports Roblox. Samsung documents Tizen apps on 2016-and-later Smart TVs. Its platform documentation also says 2015 models support Samsung’s legacy platform for backward compatibility, while 2010–2014 models run Samsung legacy apps. Roblox’s announcement, by contrast, describes a rollout to select Android TVs—not Samsung Tizen models. - On the TV, open Home, select Apps, and search for Roblox.
- If Roblox appears for your model and region, install it from that store and follow the on-screen sign-in steps.
- If it does not appear, the reviewed official sources do not document a supported direct-install method for that Samsung TV. Android TV eligibility does not establish compatibility with Tizen.
Android TV requirements and controller use
Roblox’s April 17, 2026 announcement describes a rollout to select Android TVs, targeting 1080p sets with at least 1.5 GB of RAM and 4K sets with at least 2 GB. These are details of the Android TV rollout, not specifications that establish Samsung Tizen support.

Roblox says some games on supported Android TVs may need a controller for the best experience. That is conditional guidance, not a requirement for every TV experience—and a controller does not make Roblox installable on a Samsung TV that lacks the app.

What to check before choosing a device
- Galaxy phone or tablet: check Android version, OpenGL ES 3.0 support, and any compatibility message shown by Roblox or the app store.
- Samsung TV: check the TV’s operating system and whether Roblox appears in that specific model’s regional Apps store.
- TV controls: if Roblox is available, check whether the experience works with the remote or calls for a controller.
