In the 2017 Star Wars Battlefront II, local split-screen is available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, not PC. Connect a second compatible controller, open Arcade, then choose a co-op Scenario or custom Arcade match to fight AI together, or choose Versus to play against each other. Follow the Player 2 prompt displayed in your game; the current button or profile sequence is not specified in the official sources cited here.
Which platforms support split-screen?
Local split-screen is supported on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. StarWars.com’s game page identifies those two consoles as the platforms for split-screen co-op. Although the game is also available on PC, EA’s product page listing PC does not mean native PC split-screen is supported.

How to start a local split-screen match
- Run the game on a PlayStation 4 or Xbox One.
- Connect a second controller compatible with that console. The official sources establish the need for a second local player but do not verify specific controller models.
- Follow the on-screen prompt to join as Player 2. The exact current button press and profile flow are not established, so use the prompt in your game rather than a button instruction from an unverified guide.
- Open Arcade, then select the kind of match you want: co-op Scenario or custom Arcade for teamwork, or Versus for a head-to-head match.

Co-op against AI
Choose a Scenario or custom Arcade match in Co-op to play alongside the second local player against AI opponents. EA’s 2017 launch announcement describes Arcade as allowing console players to play offline split-screen couch co-op against AI enemies across a variety of scenarios: EA’s launch announcement.
Local head-to-head
Choose Versus to battle the other player locally. The official Xbox One manual describes the options as: “Play on your own in Solo, or play Scenarios and custom Arcade together with a guest in Co-op, or go head-to-head in a Versus match.” The PlayStation Blog’s Arcade overview also describes console players teaming up or battling one another in split-screen.

Can you play split-screen offline?
Yes. Arcade co-op on console can be played offline against AI, according to EA’s launch announcement. Microsoft’s Xbox store listing also describes the Xbox One feature as “two-player offline split-screen play”: Xbox store listing. That offline Arcade option is distinct from online multiplayer; online features have separate internet and account requirements described on EA’s product page.

- Check that the game is running on PS4 or Xbox One; PC is not listed as a split-screen platform.
- Make sure the second controller is connected to the console and use the in-game prompt to join.
- Start the session from Arcade and select Co-op or Versus rather than looking for local split-screen in an online multiplayer mode.
The official sources cited here do not specify a universal Player 2 button press, account requirement for local play, or compatibility list for third-party controllers. Use the game’s displayed prompt and the controller guidance for your console.
