To play Titanfall 2 in VR, install the game, run CircuitLord’s community installer, let it find your installation and set up its separate TF2VR profile, then start your VR runtime and select Launch in VR in the installer. Launching Titanfall 2 normally still starts the unmodded game. The VR conversion is community-made, not an official EA or Respawn release.
What you need to know before installing
CircuitLord’s project converts Titanfall 2’s campaign for VR. The project describes features including stereo rendering, full-body inverse kinematics, manual reloading and Titan controls; these are the author’s feature descriptions, not a guarantee that every interaction works perfectly.
- A Titanfall 2 installation from Steam, EA or Xbox that the installer can locate.
- The EA app. The installer checks for it; if it is missing, the project directs users to launch Titanfall 2 once so the app can be installed.
- A VR headset and runtime configured for your PC. The README advises starting SteamVR or another chosen VR runtime, but does not publish a supported-headset or controller list, minimum PC specifications or a preferred headset. Check the project’s current guidance for your specific hardware rather than assuming compatibility.
The project is not affiliated with or endorsed by the game’s developers or publishers. CircuitLord’s README says: “These mods and this installer are community projects, not affiliated with or endorsed by the game developers or publishers. Use at your own risk.” Read CircuitLord’s installer README.
How to install and launch Titanfall 2 VR
- Install Titanfall 2 through Steam, EA or Xbox.
- Run CircuitLord’s installer and let it locate the game installation. If it reports that the EA app is missing, launch Titanfall 2 once as directed by the project, then run the installer again.
- Allow the installer to install Northstar and the VR mod into its separate
TF2VRprofile in the game directory. - Start SteamVR or the VR runtime you use.
- In CircuitLord’s installer, click Launch in VR.
For the current installer and its release-specific directions, use the official releases page. Release details can change; the instructions above describe the project’s documented flow, not a promise that every future version uses identical labels or behavior.

What the installer changes in the game folder
The installer’s documented role is to find the Titanfall 2 installation, check for the EA app, and place Northstar and the VR mod in a distinct TF2VR profile inside the game directory. CircuitLord says the standard Titanfall 2 launch remains unmodded, while the installer’s VR launch uses that profile.
The README also describes how the installer manages its own files. It reads a manifest with release versions, download URLs and SHA-256 hashes. Manifest entries can preserve files already present, substitute game-folder tokens in selected files, and provide optional release channels. The installer records the files it writes; during an update it removes files shipped by the previous version if the new version no longer ships them, and uninstall removes files in that record.

That file record is not described as a complete backup of every game file. Do not treat the installer’s update or uninstall behavior as protection for unrelated files or changes made by other tools.

The installer includes a Campaign saves button to inspect or open the documented VR save location. The project’s releases show that save handling can change between versions: its September 30, 2026 v1.2.5 notes say campaign saves open from their new LocalAppData location, while v1.2.4 notes said the VR campaign always starts a new save. Check the current release notes if save behavior matters to you.

Compatibility and troubleshooting
The installer cannot find Titanfall 2
Confirm the game is installed through Steam, EA or Xbox and that you are pointing the installer at the intended installation. The project says it supports finding those storefront installations; it does not establish support for every custom or relocated folder arrangement.
The installer says the EA app is missing
Follow the project’s instruction to launch Titanfall 2 once, which should install the EA app, then retry the installer.

The game does not start in VR
Start SteamVR or your selected runtime before clicking Launch in VR. If the problem persists, consult the project’s current README and release notes for guidance specific to your version and runtime. A secondary setup guide discusses an active OpenXR runtime and compatible headset/controllers, but that does not constitute an official compatibility list: PCVR Central’s setup guide.
You want to return to the regular game
Launch Titanfall 2 normally rather than using the installer’s VR button. The README documents the normal launch as unmodded; it does not claim the installer creates a full backup of the game directory.
