On Windows, the practical desktop route is an Android emulator such as GameLoop or BlueStacks. On Mac, first check whether the Mac App Store offers the iPhone/iPad version for your specific Mac; otherwise, any Android-virtualization option must be verified separately for your model and macOS version.
An emulator is different from playing the desktop game League of Legends. Wild Rift has its own client, progression, controls and mobile-oriented design, and emulator compatibility can change after a game or emulator update.
Can you officially play Wild Rift on PC or Mac?
Riot currently presents Wild Rift as “League of Legends, now on mobile” on its official site: wildrift.leagueoflegends.com. No clearly documented Riot-native Wild Rift client for Windows or macOS is identified here.
- Windows: use a third-party Android emulator if you accept the compatibility and policy risks.
- Mac: check the Mac App Store listing on the particular computer. Availability can vary by Mac model and macOS version.
- PC League: the client at leagueoflegends.com is a separate game, not a launcher for Wild Rift.
Riot’s mobile requirements also change over time. Its 2026 update beginning with Patch 7.0 specifies Android 8 or later, 3 GB RAM and listed CPU/GPU baselines, while Apple requirements include iPhone 6s or newer, iOS 15 or later and 2 GB RAM. Those are mobile requirements, not PC emulator specifications: Riot’s requirements update.

Windows method 1: GameLoop
GameLoop publishes a dedicated Wild Rift package and installation route. Download it only from the vendor’s site: GameLoop Wild Rift.
- Download and run the Windows GameLoop installer.
- Open GameLoop and search for League of Legends: Wild Rift.
- Select Install, then launch the game when the download finishes.
- Sign in with the Riot account that contains your Wild Rift progress.
- Open practice mode before attempting a live or ranked match.
GameLoop’s listed baseline
The following figures come from GameLoop’s emulator page, not from Riot’s certified PC requirements:

Treat these as vendor-package figures that may be incomplete for current Windows versions, drivers and game updates. They are not a promise of a particular frame rate.
Windows method 2: BlueStacks
BlueStacks is a general Android emulator. Its July 17, 2026 release notes document a Wild Rift crash/freeze fix on BlueStacks 5 Android 13, showing that compatibility depends on current emulator builds: BlueStacks 5.22 release notes.

- Download BlueStacks from bluestacks.com, not an APK mirror.
- Install the current release and complete Google Play sign-in.
- Search Google Play for League of Legends: Wild Rift.
- Confirm that the developer is Riot Games, then install the app.
- Launch Wild Rift and sign in to the Riot account associated with your progress.
- Update both BlueStacks and Wild Rift before changing settings or troubleshooting.
If Wild Rift is unavailable or unstable, use the Android instance currently recommended by BlueStacks rather than relying on an old guide that specifies a permanently “correct” version.
Mac: check compatibility before installing anything
Apple-silicon Mac
- Open the Mac App Store and search for League of Legends: Wild Rift.
- Check whether the listing offers Get or Install on that Mac.
- Confirm the developer is Riot Games.
- Install and launch only if the store accepts the device.
The U.S. listing exposes a Mac-platform URL, but that does not guarantee installation on every Mac: App Store Mac listing. If the store reports that the app is unavailable, do not spoof the device or modify system files to force it.
Intel Mac
Do not assume the iPhone/iPad build will run on an Intel Mac. An Android virtualization product may be possible, but current macOS support, graphics performance and Wild Rift compatibility must be checked with that vendor. Windows GameLoop instructions and requirements do not automatically transfer to macOS.
Use the right Riot account
Sign in with your existing Riot account if you want account-linked Wild Rift progress. A second account creates separate progress intentionally; it does not merge accounts. Wild Rift and PC League use separate game clients even when the same Riot account can authenticate to both.

Never share credentials or use unofficial “login fix” utilities. Riot’s Terms license access and allow restrictions or termination for violations: Riot Games Terms of Service.
Configure keyboard and mouse controls
Wild Rift was designed for touch input, so keyboard and mouse can feel less natural than PC League. Emulator labels and defaults vary; the following is an illustrative starting point, not an official Riot layout.

- Keep the on-screen overlay visible while learning the map.
- Place cancel, attack and target commands where accidental presses are unlikely.
- Test movement, abilities, recall, camera and targeting in practice or a bot match.
- Do not use macros, scripts, rapid-fire functions or automated inputs.
Performance settings that usually help
- Enable hardware CPU virtualization in BIOS/UEFI if the emulator says it is unavailable.
- Close browsers, video editors, launchers and other heavy applications.
- Allocate CPU cores and RAM conservatively; starving the host system can make performance worse.
- Prefer stable frame pacing and moderate resolution over maximum graphics quality.
- Use wired Ethernet or strong, consistent Wi-Fi.
- Update the emulator, graphics driver, Windows or macOS and Wild Rift.
- Disable overlays and recording tools while diagnosing stutter.
- Change one renderer or graphics option at a time, then restart the emulator.
- Restart the emulator after a major Wild Rift patch.
There is no universal FPS or latency guarantee. Results vary with processor, GPU, virtualization, thermals, drivers, resolution and the current game build.
Fix Wild Rift when it will not launch
- Close and restart Wild Rift and the emulator completely.
- Install pending emulator and game updates.
- Check Google Play certification and try the vendor’s currently recommended Android instance.
- Toggle the graphics renderer, then restart; do not change several settings at once.
- Lower resolution or high-FPS options and clear Wild Rift’s app cache.
- Reinstall from Google Play or the emulator’s official catalog if files may be corrupted.
- Check Riot and emulator support pages for a post-patch incompatibility.
Store says the game is unavailable
Region restrictions, an incompatible device profile, an unsupported Android instance, Google Play account problems or a recent Wild Rift update can all cause this message. Do not solve it with an unknown APK mirror.

Gray screen, crash or freeze
Try the current emulator build and recommended Android instance first. BlueStacks specifically recorded a Wild Rift Android 13 stability fix in version 5.22, so old instructions for a particular earlier version may no longer apply.
Login or security problem
Verify the Riot account, avoid unofficial login pages and contact Riot Player Support if a security check or suspension occurs. Do not attempt to bypass it with third-party tools.
Controls feel unusable
Rebuild the keymap instead of copying a PC League layout blindly. Reduce mouse sensitivity, practice against bots and stay out of ranked play until every essential action is reliable.

That makes emulator use a compatibility and policy risk, not an automatic ban claim. Use an unmodified emulator from its official site, avoid scripts and automation, and be prepared for an update to stop working. Controller support is likewise dependent on the emulator, operating system, game build and mapping; treat it as optional rather than guaranteed.
When PC League is the better choice
Choose native PC League if you want Riot’s supported desktop client, keyboard-and-mouse controls designed for PC and the PC version’s champions, map, systems and balance. Choose Wild Rift when you specifically want its shorter mobile-oriented matches, interface, modes and progression. Neither client replaces the other.
Which route should you choose?

For Windows, start with the newest GameLoop or BlueStacks build whose current documentation matches your setup. For Mac, check the App Store first and avoid claiming support that the store or emulator vendor does not confirm. For ranked or highly competitive play, a native supported client is the more predictable choice.
