You cannot complete a documented preorder for Heidi’s Legacy: Mountains Calling yet. As of October 16, 2026, Steam lists the game as “Coming soon,” offers a downloadable demo and a wishlist notification, and does not show a preorder checkout. The announced release window is December 2026 on PC, followed by Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5 in January 2027; Nintendo’s Canadian store gives the Switch version a specific date of January 21, 2027.
No Standard, Deluxe, Collector’s, boxed or other named editions have been announced. Until a platform store publishes prices and purchase options, the practical “edition” decision is which platform suits your hardware, controller preference and ecosystem.

What you can buy right now
The short-term action is different for each platform. Steam is the only storefront in the available information with an active game page, and that page is still in coming-soon status. You can add the game to your wishlist and download the demo, but a wishlist entry is not a paid reservation and does not guarantee a launch-day copy or price.

| Platform | Current status | Announced release | What is confirmed | What is not confirmed |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| PC (Steam) | Coming soon; demo and wishlist notification available | December 2026 | Steam listing, single-player cozy narrative simulation, downloadable demo | Price, preorder date, launch-day time, bonuses, regional availability and edition tiers |
| Nintendo Switch | Official Nintendo Canadian store listing | January 21, 2027 in Canada | One-player software; English, Japanese, French, German, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese support | Price, preorder opening, physical copy, bonuses and availability in every region |
| PlayStation 5 | Announced for January 2027; wait for the official PlayStation Store page | January 2027 | PS5 version announced in the publisher’s October 12, 2026 release | Exact day, price, languages, preorder status, physical release and bonuses |
The dates are not interchangeable. “December 2026” is the announced PC month, while the January 2027 window applies to Switch and PS5. Only the Nintendo Canadian listing supplies a day, and that date is regional rather than a universal worldwide launch date.

How to preorder—or follow—each version
PC: use the Steam wishlist and demo
- Open the official Steam store page for Heidi’s Legacy: Mountains Calling.
- Check that the page still says “Coming soon.” A coming-soon page is not a checkout page.
- Select the wishlist option to request a Steam notification when the store status changes. This does not charge you, lock in a price or create a preorder.
- Use the page’s demo download while it is available. Treat the demo as a way to evaluate the game, not as proof that the final build, content or performance is identical.
- Return to the store page after a price and release date are posted. Only then can you determine whether a purchase button, preorder window or more than one PC package exists.
Steam tags the game Adventure, Indie, Simulation, Life Sim, Story Rich, Choices Matter, Cozy, Crafting, Fishing and Singleplayer. Those labels describe the announced format, but they do not establish a minimum PC specification, operating-system requirement, price or multiplayer support beyond the single-player designation. Do not treat a future store update as covered by the current listing until you read its system-requirements and purchase sections.
Nintendo Switch: monitor the regional eShop listing
Nintendo’s official Canadian store lists January 21, 2027 as the Switch release date and identifies the software as one-player. It also lists English, Japanese, French, German, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese. The Canadian date should be used for Canadian purchasing decisions; other Nintendo regions can display different dates, currencies or availability.
- Open your own region’s official Nintendo eShop or Nintendo game listing.
- Confirm the title and platform before paying. A listing for another Nintendo region may show a different date or language information.
- When Nintendo enables purchasing, check whether the page offers a preorder button or only a release-date listing. Do not assume that a listed date means a preorder is already open.
- Review the displayed price, supported languages and any stated download-size or account requirements at checkout. None of those purchase details are established by the currently documented listing.
- Save the order confirmation and verify which Nintendo account owns the purchase. Digital ownership and download access are controlled by the account used for the transaction.
No physical Switch edition, cartridge, retail package or preorder bonus has been documented. A retailer page or third-party listing should not be treated as official confirmation until Nintendo or the publisher identifies it.

PlayStation 5: wait for the official store page
The publisher’s October 12, 2026 announcement includes a PlayStation 5 version arriving in January 2027, but the available information does not provide a day, price or PlayStation Store checkout. The safest approach is to wait for the official PS5 listing rather than relying on an unverified retailer date.
- Look for the game in the PlayStation Store on a PS5 or through the official PlayStation storefront for your account region.
- Check that the listing identifies PS5, not a similarly titled product or a different platform.
- Read the release date, price, languages, edition names and preorder terms shown on the store page.
- If the page offers a wishlist or follow function before purchase opens, use that feature instead of paying an unofficial seller.
- Before checkout, verify whether the purchase is PS5-only or includes another PlayStation entitlement. No cross-buy promise has been announced.
Because the final PlayStation page is not yet available in the documented information, the exact January day and regional launch arrangements remain open.
What kind of game is Heidi’s Legacy: Mountains Calling?
Steam describes a cozy narrative simulation set in an alpine village. You return from city life, care for goats, craft mountain goods and help villagers rebuild their lives. The design combines life-simulation routines with a story in which dialogue and personal decisions branch. The stated choice is not simply cosmetic: the description presents a slower path and a bolder approach to changing the community.

- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)

- Fast and Reliable 85W Charging: Offers high-capacity, speedy charging for laptops up to 85W, so you spend less time tethered to an outlet and more time being productive.

That combination matters when choosing hardware. Players who want a quiet, portable routine may value the Switch version’s handheld and docked flexibility. Players who prefer PC input options, a larger display or the ability to try the demo before buying may prefer Steam. A PS5 buyer will need to wait for the store page to confirm the final console package and purchasing terms.
The project is inspired by the world-renowned Heidi intellectual property. The publisher’s October 2026 release says the children’s novel has sold more than 50 million copies and has been adapted for film and television 25 times. Those figures are claims reproduced in that release, not independently verified sales or adaptation counts in the available information.
There are no confirmed Standard, Deluxe or Collector’s editions
Nothing in the documented official listings names a Standard, Deluxe, Collector’s, launch, physical or boxed edition. There is also no confirmed soundtrack package, art book, cosmetic bonus, early-access period, preorder item or bundle. Consequently, an “edition guide” cannot responsibly rank packages that have not been announced.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
When stores eventually publish purchase options, compare the exact contents rather than the label. A higher-priced tier is meaningful only if its additional game content, physical items or entitlements are specified by the publisher or platform store. Until then, a retailer’s use of words such as “deluxe” or “collector” would be an unverified listing, not evidence of an official edition.

| Choose this route | It fits you if… | Check before paying |
|---|---|---|
| Steam on PC | You want to sample the downloadable demo, already play on PC, or prefer a desktop setup and Steam’s notification system. | Final system requirements, price, release time, controller support and whether the demo reflects the launch build. |
| Nintendo Switch | You want a portable console version and the listed language set meets your needs. | Your regional eShop date and currency, digital-versus-physical availability, download requirements and the final price. |
| PlayStation 5 | You already use PS5 and want the announced console version rather than a PC or Nintendo purchase. | Official store date, price, languages, edition contents, preorder terms and any PlayStation entitlement details. |
Choose based on where you will actually play
Buying the “best” platform on paper is less useful than buying the version you can play consistently. Consider whether the game will be played at a desk, on a television or away from home; whether you prefer keyboard-and-mouse or a controller; and which account already holds your games. The available information does not establish cross-save, cross-buy or transfer of progress between PC, Switch and PS5, so assume that each platform is a separate purchase and save environment unless its store page says otherwise.
Choose based on language information
The Nintendo Canadian listing explicitly names six supported languages: English, Japanese, French, German, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese. That is useful evidence for the Switch listing, but it should not be extended automatically to Steam or PS5. Confirm the language table on the store page for the platform and region you intend to use.

- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.

Release timeline and what each date means
- October 12, 2026: the publisher announced PC for December 2026 and Switch and PS5 for January 2027.
- October 16, 2026 status: Steam remains “Coming soon,” with a demo and wishlist notification rather than a preorder checkout.
- December 2026: the announced PC launch month. A specific day, time and price are not provided in the available information.
- January 21, 2027: the date shown by Nintendo’s official Canadian store for Switch.
- January 2027: the announced PS5 launch month. A specific day remains to be posted on an official PlayStation listing.
A release month is a schedule announcement, not a guarantee that every region, storefront and physical retailer will launch simultaneously. Use the store tied to your account for the final local date and purchase status.
What has not been announced—and why it matters
- Prices: no PC, Switch or PS5 price is stated in the available official information, so a current price comparison would be speculation.
- Preorder windows: Steam has no checkout on the documented page, and no Switch or PS5 preorder opening is established.
- Bonuses: no digital items, physical gifts, early access or soundtrack bonuses are documented.
- Physical copies: no cartridge, disc, boxed edition or retail distribution has been confirmed.
- Edition tiers: no Standard, Deluxe or Collector’s packages are named.
- Regional availability: the Switch date and language information come from Canada; other regions may differ.
- Technical requirements: the available Steam description does not establish PC specifications, file size, frame-rate targets or console performance modes.
- Cross-platform features: cross-buy, cross-save and shared progression are not announced.
These omissions are not proof that the features will never exist. They mean a buyer should wait for a first-party store page or publisher announcement before treating them as part of the product.
A practical checklist for launch day
- Confirm the platform and region on the storefront you use.
- Check the final release date rather than relying on an old retailer listing or a month-only announcement.
- Read the price and edition contents on the checkout page.
- Verify supported languages, especially if you are buying outside Canada or on a platform other than Switch.
- Check whether the game is digital-only or whether an official physical package is listed.
- Review system requirements on PC and storage or download information on a console listing when posted.
- Keep the account receipt and note which account owns the game.
- Do not pay a third party for a preorder code unless the seller and code are authorized for your region.
Bottom line for preorder shoppers
There is no confirmed preorder to place today in the documented Steam listing, and no official edition tier to choose among. Wishlist the Steam page and try its demo if you are considering PC. For Switch, use the official listing’s January 21, 2027 Canadian date as the current regional reference and wait for your eShop’s purchase details. For PS5, wait for the official PlayStation Store page, which must establish the exact day, price and package. Your best choice is therefore a platform decision, not a Standard-versus-Deluxe decision: buy where you want to play, after the relevant storefront publishes the terms.
