The event runs from October 8 at 09:00 UTC to October 12 at 08:00 UTC on Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation. Its announcement does not provide preload instructions or download sizes, so treat launch-era size reports as historical—not as current download requirements.
Can you preload ARC Raiders for the October 2026 free-play event?
The official event announcement does not give a preload schedule or instructions. It confirms free access to the full game on Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation during the event, but that is not confirmation that preloading is available. Check the game’s store page on your platform for current download options rather than relying on launch-week instructions.
The event window is October 8, 2026, at 09:00 UTC through October 12, 2026, at 08:00 UTC, according to the official event announcement. That announcement names Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation; it does not say that the event includes every platform listed on the game’s website.
How big is ARC Raiders to download?
A current, verified file size for each platform is not stated in the reviewed official sources. The official Steam listing gives PC system requirements but no current storage requirement or download size. The event announcement and ARC Raiders website likewise do not provide a platform-by-platform size table for October 2026.

- ARC Raiders Deluxe Edition includes the base game and the following content: The Wanderer Set, including the following cosmetic items: “Valente” Outfit" “Pathfinder” Backpack,“Blanket Roll” Backpack Attachment.
- Plus: Character Cosmetic, Finger Gun Rapid Fire Emote, Cowboy Scrappy Body Type and Skin, 2 400 Raider Tokens.
That distinction matters: a download size is not necessarily the same as the space the installed game occupies, and updates can change both. Check the store listing or your platform’s download screen for the current figure before clearing disk space.
Launch-era size reports are historical only
Two reports published around the October 2025 launch gave these preload figures: MP1st reported 16 GB for PS5 and 27 GB for Steam on October 28, 2025 (MP1st). These are reported launch-era preload sizes, not verified current downloads or installed sizes.
PC Gamer reported an approximately 26.8 GB PC download on October 29, 2025, and said the Epic Games Store preload was unavailable at launch because of an unforeseen issue; players had to wait until launch to download (PC Gamer). That describes the 2025 launch, not Epic’s current preload availability or a current file size.
Which platforms are included?
The official ARC Raiders site lists Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and GeForce NOW. The October 2026 free-play announcement specifically names Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation. Do not assume the event includes Epic Games Store or GeForce NOW based solely on the broader platform list.

Is ARC Raiders already out?
Yes. The Steam listing gives October 30, 2025 as ARC Raiders’ release date (Steam). The October 2026 event is a limited free-play period for the full game, not its original launch.

Steam lists the following PC requirements. They can help you assess compatibility, but they do not establish how much disk space the current installation needs.
