You can preorder Grand Theft Auto VI for PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S through the PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, Rockstar Store, or a participating retailer that sells the game in your country. Digital orders are tied to the platform account and normally preload through that store. A physical preorder is a boxed download code, not a disc; Rockstar says retailer shipping or pickup is expected from November 12, 2026, ahead of the November 19, 2026 release.
Tracking depends on where you bought it: use the shipping-confirmation email for a Rockstar Store physical order, the retailer’s own order page or support for any other retailer, and PlayStation or Xbox support for purchases made in those platform stores. Prices, stock, delivery promises, taxes, currencies and promotional terms below are US-store examples or official product information; check your local storefront before paying.

- PlayStation Store: digital editions for PS5.
- Xbox Store: digital editions for Xbox Series X|S.
- Rockstar Store: a direct digital option and a physical boxed-code option where offered.
- Select third-party retailers: physical or digital listings only in countries where that retailer is authorized to sell the game.
Availability is not automatically worldwide. Rockstar lists storefronts by country and says additional markets may be added subject to local policies, regulations and age-rating decisions. Open the storefront while signed in to the account you will use for the game and confirm that PS5 or Xbox Series X|S and your country are shown before placing an order.

A listing for an older console, an imported code, or an unverified marketplace seller is not equivalent to an official preorder. Confirm the platform, edition, seller and redemption country on the product page.
Standard and Ultimate editions
Rockstar lists Standard and Ultimate editions. Both are available digitally. The Standard Edition includes the game. The Ultimate Edition includes the game plus the Ultimate Edition Upgrade.

Digital preorder
A digital purchase is delivered to your platform account rather than to your mailbox. Rockstar’s platform guide says digital preloads begin at local midnight on November 12, 2026. You can install the encrypted game data during the preload window, but access remains locked until the release time set for your region and platform.
Physical preorder
The physical Standard Edition is a box with a download code. There is no disc to insert, lend or resell. Rockstar expects retailers to ship or make boxes available for pickup from November 12, 2026, and says a redeemed code can support preload from that date. A physical purchase therefore combines retailer logistics with a digital download: you must receive the box, reveal the code, redeem it on the matching platform account and have enough console storage and internet bandwidth to download the game.
Check country, platform and account compatibility first
Region mistakes are difficult to reverse after a code is revealed, so complete these checks before checkout:

- Identify the console. Select the PS5 listing for a PlayStation 5 or the Xbox Series X|S listing for an Xbox Series X or Series S. Do not assume a PS4, Xbox One or PC entitlement is included.
- Check the account country. In your console account settings, note the country or region attached to the account that will redeem the purchase.
- Match the seller’s country. Rockstar recommends buying from a retailer in the same country as the platform account. A retailer may sell an imported box even when its price looks attractive.
- Read the code restriction. PlayStation codes follow regional groups. Rockstar states that Xbox codes are region-unlocked, but the seller’s own terms and local laws still apply.
- Confirm the email address. Use an inbox you can access after payment; dispatch notices, code instructions, receipts and cancellation messages go there.
- Save the order number. Take a screenshot or copy the confirmation number immediately. It is the fastest way to obtain support if an email is filtered or a delivery is delayed.
Do not buy a PlayStation code for one regional group expecting it to activate on an account in another group. If a retailer does not clearly state the platform, country and edition, ask its support team before ordering.
How to preorder on PlayStation 5
Digital purchase through PlayStation Store
- Open PlayStation Store on the PS5 or in the official web store while signed in to the account that will play.
- Search for Grand Theft Auto VI and select the listing marked for PS5.
- Choose Standard or Ultimate. Compare the edition description rather than relying on a thumbnail or a seller’s shortened title.
- Check the displayed country, currency, release date and any preorder promotion. The checkout page is the controlling offer for your account.
- Pay with an accepted method and retain the receipt and transaction ID.
- When the preload window opens at local midnight on November 12, 2026, open your game library, select GTA 6 and choose the download or preload command shown by PlayStation.
For a problem with payment, a missing entitlement, a refund request or a failed download, use PlayStation Support. Rockstar directs PlayStation Store customers to that platform support route rather than handling the platform transaction itself.
Physical purchase for PS5
Choose a retailer that explicitly lists the boxed PS5 Standard Edition in your country. Verify whether the offer is delivery or store pickup, the expected November 12 availability, shipping charges, cancellation deadline and return rules. When the box arrives, redeem its code in PlayStation Store on the account and regional group for which it was sold. Keep the packaging and receipt until the code activates and the game appears in your library.

How to preorder on Xbox Series X|S
Digital purchase through Xbox Store
- Open Microsoft Store on the console or its official web storefront and sign in to the Microsoft account that will play the game.
- Search for Grand Theft Auto VI and select the Xbox Series X|S listing.
- Choose Standard or Ultimate and inspect the included upgrade description.
- Confirm the local price, currency, release date and promotion shown at checkout.
- Complete payment and save the order number and receipt.
- At local midnight on November 12, 2026, check your Xbox library for the preload option and install the available files.
Contact Xbox Support for an Xbox Store payment, entitlement, refund or download issue. Rockstar’s purchase-support guidance sends platform-store transactions to the platform that processed them.
Physical purchase for Xbox
For a boxed order, confirm that the product is the Xbox Series X|S Standard Edition and that the seller ships to your address or offers pickup. The box contains a digital Xbox code, not a disc. Rockstar states that Xbox codes are region-unlocked, but you should still check the seller’s country, tax treatment and return policy. Redeem the code on the Microsoft account you plan to use, then install during the preload period if the code has been redeemed in time.
How to track a physical preorder
Rockstar Store order
- Wait for the dispatch event. Rockstar says the tracking message is sent when the order ships, not necessarily when the order is first placed.
- Open the shipping-confirmation email and use its tracking link. Sign in to the carrier page if the link requests additional verification.
- Check every tracking number. Multiple items in one order may leave in separate boxes, each with its own number and delivery date.
- Compare the carrier status with the shipping option selected at checkout. Delivery time depends on that option and the destination.
- If the link fails, search the retailer account’s order history using the order number and contact Rockstar Store support with the order email, number and destination.
A preorder confirmation is evidence that the order was accepted; it is not proof that a parcel has entered the carrier network. Tracking normally becomes useful after dispatch.

Another retailer’s order
Rockstar does not provide a universal tracking dashboard for independent retailers. Open that seller’s order page, search your confirmation and dispatch emails, and check its help center for carrier and cancellation procedures. Contact the retailer directly about purchase status, refunds, address changes, delivery estimates, damaged packaging or a missing code. Do not send the retailer’s order number to Rockstar expecting Rockstar to alter the shipment.
PlayStation Store or Xbox Store order
Digital platform orders do not have a parcel tracking number. Check the purchase history and game library on the account used at checkout. For a charge, missing entitlement or download problem, use PlayStation Support or Xbox Support respectively.

- No dispatch email: Check spam, promotions and the retailer account page. A seller may not issue a tracking number until the box leaves its warehouse.
- Tracking says label created: The carrier may have the electronic record before the parcel is physically scanned. Ask the seller for the carrier’s handoff status rather than opening duplicate orders.
- Different boxes arrive separately: Review each tracking number; Rockstar says multi-item orders can ship in separate boxes.
- Address is wrong: Contact the seller immediately. Carriers often cannot redirect a parcel after a delivery scan, and changing a platform account address will not change a physical shipment.
- Box arrives with an invalid or already-used code: Keep the box, receipt and photos of the code area. Contact the retailer first, because it sold the physical product; platform support can investigate redemption errors after the seller confirms the transaction.
- Retailer cannot resolve delivery: Ask about its formal refund or replacement process and payment-provider dispute deadlines. Rockstar cannot refund or replace a purchase made through another retailer.

Rockstar lists a Vintage Vice City Pack containing a vehicle and garage, outfits and hairstyles, and an exclusive weapon pattern. Eligible digital purchases made before November 20, 2026 may also include one month of GTA+. The offer, eligibility and redemption rules can vary by country and platform.
The US PlayStation listing says the included GTA+ month is non-transferable, can be redeemed only on the preorder account, must be redeemed by March 31, 2027, and automatically renews monthly until canceled. The US Xbox listing says redemption must occur within 180 days after preorder and is unavailable to some restricted child accounts. An included month can therefore become a paid recurring subscription if it is not canceled; read the current local terms and cancel before renewal if you do not want ongoing billing.

Preorder timeline and final checklist
- Before payment: Confirm PS5 or Xbox Series X|S, Standard or Ultimate, digital or boxed code, seller country, account region, total local price and promotion terms.
- Immediately after payment: Save the receipt, order number, seller contact and the email account used for the purchase.
- Before November 12: Make console storage available and update system software. For a physical order, monitor the seller’s dispatch notice or pickup instructions.
- November 12: Digital preloads are scheduled to begin at local midnight. Physical boxes are expected to begin shipping or pickup, and redeemed codes can support preload.
- November 19: The official release date is scheduled for this date. Digital access and physical-code access remain subject to the platform’s regional release timing.
- After redemption: Verify that the game and any purchased upgrade appear on the intended account. Redeem any qualifying GTA+ offer by the deadline stated in your local listing, and cancel recurring billing if you do not want it.
The safest purchase is the official platform store in your own country when you want digital preload and no parcel. Choose an in-country physical retailer only when you specifically want a box or pickup, and treat its order page and support team—not Rockstar—as the source of delivery updates.
