For a long trip in Dragon’s Dogma 2, plan around three things: the route, where you might camp, and how you can save or travel back. Keep a camping kit in mind if your route may call for a campsite, and treat Ferrystones as conditional fast travel—not a guaranteed way out of trouble. Camping also does not update the game’s “Last Inn Rest” load point.
What to plan before leaving
Before setting out, check your equipment and party, then consider whether the route makes stopping at a campsite likely. If it does, make sure a camping kit is part of your plan. Capcom says the Explorer’s Camping Kit is an in-game item added to in-game storage and also available to buy at in-game shops; it is not real-world camping gear. - Review your equipment and party for the trip you intend to take.
- Consider whether the route makes campsite use likely, and plan for a camping kit if so.
- Decide whether you will continue on foot or attempt to use a Ferrystone where permitted.
- If the journey is risky, understand the save and load behavior before you leave.
The available official guidance does not establish exact quantities of curatives or stamina items, ingredient recipes, carry-weight thresholds, campsite encounter frequency, or all effects of resting. Avoid treating a specific pack list or campsite rule as confirmed without checking a current in-game reference.
Walking or using a Ferrystone

Do not rely on a Ferrystone as an emergency escape: combat blocks its use, and location restrictions can also prevent activation. If it will not activate in a covered spot, move to a location where the game permits use and try again; Capcom says the item is not consumed when the location prevents activation.

Understand saves and the “Last Inn Rest” load option
Dragon’s Dogma 2 supports manual saves and autosaves, but saving is unavailable during enemy combat. Capcom’s PlayStation 5 FAQ also says manual and autosaved data share one save slot on that platform. This is a PS5-specific qualification; do not assume the save-slot detail applies identically to every platform. Capcom Support FAQ, updated July 20, 2026.
The “Last Inn Rest” load option refers to the last time the Arisen rested at an inn or dwelling. Camping is excluded, so a campsite rest does not move that load point. If you are choosing whether to continue a risky journey, keep this distinction in mind rather than treating a camp as equivalent to an inn or dwelling rest.

What not to assume about long-trip supplies
Capcom’s online manual page links to the official web manual, but its English manual request returned a 403 in the source material available for this article. The official FAQ cited above does not verify precise consumable counts, recipes, food bonuses, encumbrance limits, campsite ambush rules, or every effect of resting. Use in-game descriptions and current platform-specific guidance for those details rather than relying on unverified fixed rules.

In an announcement dated June 10, 2026, Capcom scheduled Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen for October 9, 2026, describing the Switch 2 release as combining the main game and expansion.
