Prepare by treating the show as a loud, future-dated live event rather than a fixed soundtrack playback. RADAR Festival has announced Mick Gordon performing DOOM music with the DOOM Machine, a full live band and an orchestra at Magna, Magna Way, Sheffield, S60 1FD. Because the festival says timings, access arrangements and other details will be updated, check the official event page, the festival app and your ticket agent’s messages close to the date.
What has actually been announced
The strongest confirmed description comes from RADAR Festival’s official event listing: a live DOOM soundtrack performance involving Mick Gordon, the DOOM Machine, a full band and an orchestra. This is a concert presentation, not simply recorded game audio played through a venue system.

The listing identifies Magna, Magna Way, Sheffield, S60 1FD as the venue. It does not establish a final setlist, a running time, or which DOOM games will supply the music. Plan for the announced format without assuming that a particular track, title or encore is guaranteed.

Build a reliable information plan
Use the official event listing as your baseline
Save the festival’s event and venue page and revisit it as the date approaches. Confirm the venue name and address, ticket instructions, any age or entry information shown for your event, and links to later updates. Do not rely on a guide written for an earlier RADAR year or a different venue.
Watch for the final set times
RADAR’s FAQ says set times will be published online nearer the festival and through its app. Until that publication, do not plan around an assumed start or finish time. Once the schedule appears, save a copy or screenshot in case your connection is poor at the venue, then check again for any same-day change.
Read ticket-agent messages
The ticket agent may send entry instructions separately from the festival website. Keep the order confirmation and later messages together, and check the agent’s stated requirements before leaving home. If the ticket is delivered through an app, sign in while you still have a dependable connection and make sure the relevant account can be opened on your phone.

Plan the journey to Magna in Sheffield
Start with the confirmed destination
Enter Magna, Magna Way, Sheffield, S60 1FD into your journey planner rather than searching only for “RADAR.” The festival’s current listing is the authority for this event’s venue. Travel routes, entrances and on-site arrangements can differ from previous RADAR locations.
Make a primary and backup plan
Choose how you will reach the venue, identify where you need to be dropped off or met, and leave time for locating the correct entrance. Keep a second route or meeting option in mind in case your first plan is delayed. The festival page should be checked again close to the event because access and operational details can be updated.

Separate arrival time from performance time
Do not treat the published performance time as the moment you should arrive. Allow time for travel, ticket checks, security procedures and finding the hall. The appropriate buffer depends on the final instructions and your own journey; the official sources do not provide a universal arrival interval.
Protect your hearing without overcomplicating it
RADAR advises attendees to protect their hearing from loud noise and says earplugs may be available from staff. You do not have to buy a paid product in order to follow that advice. Bringing your own pair can make the choice and fit more predictable, while using staff-provided earplugs avoids carrying another item.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsDecide whether to bring earplugs
| Preparation choice | What the official guidance establishes | Practical consideration |
|---|---|---|
| Bring earplugs from home | You have protection with you before entering the venue. | Choose a pair that you can fit comfortably and keep in a small, accessible case. |
| Use earplugs supplied by staff | RADAR says earplugs are available from staff. | Ask where to obtain them when you arrive and allow time to fit them before the music begins. |
| Carry a spare pair | The organizer does not require a particular product or brand. | A spare is useful if one is lost or becomes uncomfortable, but it is optional. |
Think about fit, comfort and carrying
If you buy earplugs in advance, compare the factors that matter during a concert: whether they sit securely, whether you can wear them for the expected duration, whether they are reusable or disposable, and how easily you can carry them. The festival has not endorsed a specific product, and no product has been tested for this event. Follow the package instructions and stop to adjust them if they feel painful or loose.
Keep them easy to reach
Place earplugs somewhere you can access without unpacking your entire bag. If you prefer to put them in before entering the loudest area, do so at a calm point in your arrival routine. If you notice discomfort, move to a quieter location and ask staff for help rather than ignoring it.
Check accessibility arrangements early
RADAR says it is updating arrangements for its new home at Magna. Its accessibility information identifies the event-specific accessibility guide as the most accurate source when it is published. Read that guide as soon as it is available and contact the festival with questions that it does not answer.

Turn the guide into a personal plan
- Note the entrance, route and facilities that apply to your needs.
- Check whether you need to contact the festival before arrival and keep any confirmation with your ticket information.
- Identify where you can ask staff for assistance once inside.
- Share only the information your companions need to help you follow the plan.
Do not assume that arrangements from another RADAR year or another venue apply at Magna. If the guide and an older social-media post conflict, use the current guide and ask the organizer to clarify.
What to bring to the DOOM concert
Use the final ticket and venue instructions as the controlling list, then assemble a small day-of kit:
- Your ticket or ticket-app access, plus the account credentials needed to open it.
- A charged phone and a charging solution that complies with the venue’s rules.
- Earplugs, if you plan to bring your own.
- Any essential medication or accessibility equipment you normally carry.
- The address and your travel plan saved for offline access.
- A meeting-point note for your group.
Do not pack an item merely because it appeared in a general festival checklist. Check the event’s current bag, security and prohibited-items instructions before you leave; the supplied event information does not define those rules.
Coordinate with friends before you enter
Choose a meeting point that survives a dead phone
RADAR’s FAQ recommends planning a meeting point when attending with friends. Select a specific location that is easy to describe, agree on a time window, and decide what happens if someone arrives late or loses signal. “Inside somewhere” is not precise enough in a busy festival environment.
Share the essentials, not a stream of messages
Send your group the venue address, the final timetable when published, the meeting plan and a backup contact method. Charge your phone before leaving and reduce unnecessary battery use while travelling. The goal is to preserve enough power for tickets, updates and an emergency call.

Agree on individual comfort limits
Friends may want to stand in different areas, use earplugs or leave earlier. Decide in advance how you will reunite after the performance and make sure everyone knows the agreed meeting point. A shared plan avoids searching through a crowd while the music is loud.
Set expectations for the music
The announced combination of Gordon, the DOOM Machine, a live band and an orchestra points to a large-scale interpretation of DOOM music. It does not tell us the exact order of songs, the games represented, the length of the set or whether a particular fan favourite will be played.
Prepare without memorising an unconfirmed setlist
Listen to the DOOM music you enjoy if that helps you get into the mood, but do not treat fan-made track lists or older performances as promises about this event. The official announcement does not provide a detailed setlist. Your preparation should focus on hearing the performance comfortably and arriving with the correct information.
Expect a concert, not a game session
A live band and orchestra require attention to the stage, room and audience conditions that differ from playing DOOM at home. You will not control the volume, pause the music or choose the next track. Ear protection, a meeting plan and awareness of exits or assistance points are therefore more useful than trying to predict every musical detail.
A practical day-of sequence
- Recheck the sources. Open the official RADAR listing, the FAQ, the accessibility guide and your ticket-agent message. Confirm the venue, entry instructions, timetable and any changed notices.
- Charge and download. Charge your phone, sign in to the ticket app if applicable, and save essential information for offline use.
- Pack the small kit. Add your ticket access, earplugs if using them, medication or accessibility equipment, and the meeting-point details.
- Leave for Magna. Follow the route you selected and keep the backup plan available. Build in time for arrival procedures rather than aiming to reach the door at the performance time.
- Check in with your group. Confirm the meeting point and make sure everyone can access their ticket.
- Ask staff about earplugs or access. If you need earplugs, accessibility assistance or directions, ask venue or festival staff early.
- Settle before the music starts. Fit your earplugs, locate the agreed meeting point and make any final comfort adjustment before the room becomes busy.
- Recheck after the show. Follow your group’s departure plan and use the current travel information rather than assuming the route you used on arrival will be unchanged.
How to handle common uncertainties
The timetable is still missing
That is expected until RADAR publishes set times nearer the festival. Keep checking the official website and app, and monitor ticket-agent messages. Do not circulate an unofficial start time as fact.
Best Value
You cannot find the accessibility information you need
RADAR says Magna arrangements are being updated. Check the event-specific guide when published and contact the festival directly with your question. Explain the practical assistance you need instead of relying on assumptions from a previous venue.
You forgot earplugs
Ask staff where earplugs are available. RADAR’s FAQ says they may be supplied on site, so buying them in advance is optional. If you are uncomfortable with the sound level, move away from the loudest area and seek staff assistance.
Your group is separated
Use the meeting point and time window agreed before entry. Conserve phone battery, send a concise message with your location, and avoid repeatedly moving around without telling the group where you are going.
Keep optional fan purchases separate from preparation
You do not need merchandise to attend or prepare for this concert. Bethesda’s announcement of the DOOM: The Dark Ages soundtrack describes a 4LP release containing all 35 tracks, composed by Finishing Move; that is a collectible for fans, not an event requirement. Details are available in the official announcement. Buying a record will not tell you the RADAR concert’s setlist or guarantee that those tracks will be performed.
