Protect the platform account linked to your Embark ID and the email account tied to it. ARC Raiders access relies on a third-party login such as Steam, PlayStation or Xbox, so recovery starts with that platform—not with Embark. If an attacker has also changed the Embark ID link, contact Embark Support after securing the platform account.
Understand which account controls access
Your Embark ID is linked to a third-party platform account. Embark says it cannot directly recover compromised Steam, PlayStation or Xbox accounts; players need to restore access through the platform first. See Embark’s account security guidance.
That makes the email account associated with your platform login important, too. If someone controls that inbox, they may be able to interfere with platform recovery. Secure both accounts with separate, unique passwords, and use the sign-in protections offered by your platform.
Prevent unauthorized access
- Use unique passwords. Do not reuse the platform account password for its associated email. Steam warns that a compromised email can put a Steam account at risk.
- Enable additional sign-in protection. Steam Guard adds authorization for sign-ins from unrecognized devices. Other platforms have their own controls; follow their official guidance rather than assuming Steam settings apply to every ARC Raiders account.
- Keep passwords and codes private. Do not share authentication codes or enter credentials on pages reached through suspicious messages. Steam advises using official Steam sites and ignoring unsolicited support requests through chat.
- Watch the email account. Secure it and pay attention to unexpected account or security notifications.
Steam’s official instructions also recommend checking authorized devices and, if you suspect a compromise, scanning a PC for malware or malicious applications and browser extensions. These are Steam-specific recommendations: Steam’s account-security guidance.

If you suspect someone accessed your account
- Work out which login is affected. Check whether you have lost access to Steam, PlayStation or Xbox, or whether the issue is specifically the Embark ID connection.
- Recover the platform account first. Use that provider’s official recovery process. Embark directs players to the platform for compromised platform accounts and says it cannot directly restore them.
- For a compromised Steam account, secure the recovery path. Steam recommends scanning the computer and changing the password for the associated email before recovering the hijacked account. This can help prevent a repeat takeover while you regain access.
- Use official support if self-service fails. Steam offers self-recovery and Steam Support assistance if that does not work; support may ask you to verify ownership. PlayStation directs users to account recovery and its support assistant if sign-in details have changed or suspicious changes appear.
- Ask Embark about a changed link. If someone disconnected your original platform login from your Embark ID, contact Embark Support. Embark says it can help with this linking issue when you can prove the original account was yours.
Official recovery information: Steam account recovery and PlayStation account recovery. For Xbox, use official Xbox or Microsoft recovery and support; detailed Xbox recovery steps are not established here, so avoid relying on unverified menu instructions.

Embark allows one account per platform to be linked to an Embark ID. The first platform account linked is the original one and cannot be unlinked through self-service. If multiple platforms are connected, you also cannot unlink the platform you are currently using to sign in.

Linking a platform account to a different Embark ID does not move progress, earned rewards or cosmetics. More importantly, Embark warns that unlinking all third-party game accounts permanently deletes the Embark ID, including ARC Raiders and THE FINALS progress and purchased or earned cosmetics. Do not unlink every account or create a new Embark ID as a routine recovery fix. Check the consequences in Embark’s account-linking guidance before changing connections.
