The first entrance from Greymoor only gives you a bench and fast-travel point; it does not open the route to the town’s boss or residents.
How to reach Bellhart’s upper section
There are two distinct ways into Bellhart, but only the Shellwood route reaches the upper town and advances the rescue.

- From Bellhart’s Greymoor side, leave to the left and enter Shellwood.
- Defeat Sister Splinter in Shellwood and obtain Cling Grip, which lets you reach the upper route.
- Make your way to Shellwood’s top-right area and take the entrance back into upper Bellhart.
- Break the bell blockades with the Needle and follow the mostly linear corridor toward the boss room.
Prepare before fighting Widow
Open the secret connection between Bellhart and the Shellwood bench before heading into the boss fight. GamesRadar+ recommends resting at that Shellwood bench first; the bench in Bellhart’s boss room becomes available only after the fight. GamesRadar+
- Watch for pits with spikes along the route.
- Bell-headed common enemies block attacks from above. Attack from the ground or from beneath them instead.
- GamesRadar+ notes that Mask Shards available by this point can raise maximum health to six, and completing at least one Spool can increase maximum Silk. These are guide-reported progression details, not requirements for the Bellhart rescue. GamesRadar+
How to defeat Widow and complete the rescue
- Follow the Shellwood route through upper Bellhart to the boss room and defeat Widow.
- Continue through the sequence that follows the fight.
- After awakening, ring the bell.
- Rest to complete the Threadspun Town objective, then return to speak with Bellhart’s residents.

What opens after Bellhart is saved
The freed town becomes a refuge with residents, quests, and shops. Its smithy can upgrade the Needle. The Wishwell also offers an optional 250-Rosary contribution toward restoration; donating is not required to free Bellhart. GamesRadar+ PCGamesN
