Check your inventory and bank, then speak to Dimintheis in south-east Varrock and ask to reclaim your lost Family Crest gauntlets. Cooking gauntlets are one variant of those family gauntlets; reclaiming them is separate from paying to switch a pair’s variant.
Reclaim your lost gauntlets
- Check your inventory and bank. Jagex recommends checking these locations before pursuing recovery in its lost-item guidance.
- Find Dimintheis in south-east Varrock. Speak to him and choose the option to reclaim your lost Family Crest gauntlets. The Family Crest guide identifies Dimintheis as the reclaim contact.
Reclaiming is not the same as switching variants
If you get a different Family gauntlet variant from the one you want, the Family Crest guide describes a right-click switch option that costs 25,000 coins. That cost applies to switching variants, not to the reclaim step. Confirm the current in-game option and cost before spending coins, since this detail is documented by a community-maintained wiki.
Special case: dropping or destroying the initial reward
The Family Crest guide says that if you drop or destroy the family gauntlets immediately after receiving them, Dimintheis gives back both the cooking and smelting gauntlets. This is a special case for the initial reward, rather than the general procedure for reclaiming a lost pair.
If the reclaim option does not appear
Recheck your inventory and bank, and make sure you are speaking to Dimintheis. If the option is still missing, consult current game support; no current official Jagex instructions for this specific problem are established here. A RuneScape Wiki patch-note entry dated 18 February 2019 records that issues preventing players from reclaiming Family Crest gloves were fixed, but that historical fix does not establish a present-day bug or workaround: 18 February 2019 patch notes.
