If your Minecraft Bedrock Founder’s Cape has disappeared, sign in to the account that originally claimed it and check the Character Creator. If it still is not there, contact Minecraft Support with any evidence that you claimed it. Historical bug records document missing cape access, but they also describe access being removed from players who never owned the cape—so a missing item alone does not establish that you lost an entitlement.
If you mean the Founder’s Cape in Sky: Children of the Light, that is a different item associated with the Founders Pack. Use Sky’s own account and purchase-support route instead.
First, identify which game’s cape is missing
“Founder’s Cape” can refer to more than one game item. The Minecraft records concern the 2019 cape in the Bedrock Character Creator. Sky: Children of the Light has a separate Founder’s Cape associated with its Founders Pack and Secret Area; its help center distinguishes that item from the Beta Cape. See Sky’s help-center information and follow Sky’s support route for a purchase or account issue.
Recovering the 2019 Founder’s Cape in Minecraft Bedrock
- Sign in to the account that claimed the cape. Check that you are using the same account associated with the original claim.
- Open the Character Creator and check the cape inventory. The historical bug reports concern access to the cape in the Bedrock Character Creator. They do not describe a current separate recovery menu or restoration procedure.
- If it is still missing, contact official Minecraft Support. Explain that you believe the 2019 Founder’s Cape was legitimately claimed, and provide any account or claim evidence you have. The available records do not state what proof Support accepts or confirm that it can restore an individual cape.
Why a missing cape may not mean it was taken away
Mojira issue MCPE-115761 records a report that the Founder’s Cape and 10th anniversary cape disappeared from the Bedrock Character Creator; it is marked as a duplicate of MCPE-103568, which is marked resolved. The latter issue’s search-result text says a fix intentionally removed the cape from players who did not own it but had access because of another bug.

That history matters when diagnosing the problem: some players may have lost access to an entitlement they had claimed, while others may have seen the cape without owning it. The issue records do not establish which situation applies to a particular account, so check the original account and ask Support rather than assuming the cape is recoverable.
Is the 2019 cape being reissued?
A September 19, 2025 Minecraft Feedback submission asks Mojang to return the cape to affected Bedrock inventories. It is a player suggestion, not an official announcement or promise that the cape will be reissued.

Avoid unofficial “recovery” offers
Do not rely on cape downloads, account transfers, or third-party sellers as a way to restore an in-game entitlement. The historical records describe an account and inventory access issue; they do not identify any unofficial method that restores ownership.
